Jilin Lishu: “red, yellow and green” three-level treatment to protect villagers
“Little Liu doctor, you have not rested on this New Year’s Eve, last time I left you to eat, but also do not eat, today must be put in my home to eat a bite before leaving.” During the Spring Festival, Liu Lidong, a family doctor in Bali Miao Village, Lishu County, Jilin Province, always receives such warm hospitality when he goes to the villagers’ homes for consultation. Liu Lidong had to politely decline for a while before he could “get away” and hurry to the next villager’s house: “After a few experiences, I have to stagger my visits or follow up visits at meal times.”
In order to protect the primary medical services and rural elderly health, Lishu County since December 20, 2022, according to 65 years old and older than the basic disease status and age, new crown vaccination, etc., set up a key population management ledger, delineate the high school and low risk level, corresponding to the establishment of the “red, yellow and green” three-level diagnosis and treatment research system.
On the basis of the “red, yellow and green” three-level diagnosis and diagnosis system, the family doctors of primary medical institutions in Lishu County take the initiative to contact the villagers, using telephone, WeChat, video and other cloud services or door-to-door follow-up visits, to provide villagers with graded health services. At present, Lishu County has about 350 family doctors involved, Liu Lidong is one of them, he has to provide medical services for more than 30 villagers every day on average, and his cell phone is kept open 24 hours a day.
“The number of runs, I can find out who is where with my eyes closed, and say clearly the situation of elderly people suffering from basic diseases at home.” Liu Lidong said, for the “red” high-risk key people, he has to do at least three follow-up visits per week; “yellow” medium-risk sub-key people, at least two follow-up visits per week; “green” Low-risk general population, take regular service.
“He will be the first to visit the villagers as long as they need it. Whenever he finishes the clinic, he will also take the initiative to follow up with several families in the surrounding area, and when he meets villagers in need on the way, Liu Lidong will also stop and provide medical help. The villager Guo Feng of the 15th community of Bailimiao Village said, “We usually have a headache, a phone call at our beck and call, our heart is solid.”
Liu Lidong said that the trust of the villagers comes from the recognition and support of the “red, yellow and green” three-level diagnosis and diagnosis system. In the health service, no need for him to explain too much, people are very cooperative. “In the new year, I have to do a good job of villagers’ health ‘guardian’, guard the ‘last mile’ of rural medical services.” Liu Lidong said.
