Qingdao Jimo: Lingshan street "party flag red", the party and the masses together to fight the epidemic

Recently, a new crown epidemic broke out in Jimo District, Qingdao City. Party organizations at all levels and party members and cadres in Lingshan Street have been moving and rising to the challenge, strengthening their style and showing their responsibility at the forefront of the “epidemic” line, gathering strong cooperation of party building leading and group prevention and control, so that the party flag is flying high at the front line of epidemic prevention and control.

Party building leading, building a firm “red fortress” against the epidemic

The Party and Work Committee of Lingshan Street started the emergency plan at the first time, set up a leading team for the prevention and control of the epidemic, and the secretary of the Party and Work Committee commanded the front line, coordinated the scheduling, held 26 special meetings by TV and telephone, worked around the clock to do the work of prevention and control of the epidemic, and woven a tight prevention and control network.

In the key risk control area quickly set up two temporary party branches of the epidemic prevention and control, organs, village party cadres and police station police, medical personnel 24 hours a day joint duty, disinfection, strict control of the entrance and exit, to prevent the risk of spillover.

Issuing the “Red Barrier Initiative” to build a firm epidemic prevention and control in Lingshan Street, and quickly blowing the “Rallying Call” for epidemic prevention and control, the street party and government leadership team, party cadres and members of village party organizations voluntarily signed the “War Against Epidemic” and volunteered to go to the front line to fight the epidemic. They actively participated in the epidemic prevention and control work, such as on duty in villages, enterprises and communities, nucleic acid testing and information return visits. We have created 15 party pioneer teams, 15 emergency teams and 95 volunteer teams, set up 102 party pioneer posts, defined 206 party members’ responsibility areas, and more than 1,000 party members are on the front line to show their identities and be exemplary, demonstrating the pioneer nature of party members.

As of September 21, the streets have completed more than 1,000 flow transfers, more than 3,000 telephone follow-up visits, more than 850,000 nucleic acid samples, the party and the group together to guard the safety of people’s lives.

On September 14, a case of asymptomatic infection was found in Wangtong Village. When the epidemic broke out, the community secretary and director took the front line and stood firm in the “C” position. They were the first to arrive at the Sun Jia Wangtong grid and led the community cadres to guide the deployment and rapid action.

Community Director Shao Wenshi volunteered to enter the most dangerous area of the Sun Jiawangtong grid and led the police, security, village doctors and volunteers in sealing and controlling the infected area, transferring the flow, serving the public, testing nucleic acid and establishing files.

On September 15, Liu Shulai, the 65-year-old secretary of the Party branch of the Liu Jia Wangtong grid, led the grid’s party members and cadres in organizing the transfer of close contacts. It was already dark when the last close contact was found. Liu Shulai was old and had the sequelae of a stroke, so he couldn’t walk steadily, and he was exhausted by the high intensity of epidemic prevention work. His cell phone was wet by the rain and he was unable to move because of his injured back. He lay down for more than half an hour in the dark and windy rain before he was found by the villagers on patrol.

Although he was injured and could not be on the front line, he borrowed his cell phone to command and dispatch, and all the party members of the grid, under the leadership of Liu Shulai, really constructed the anti-epidemic defense line with a solid fighting fortress to ensure that all the work was carried out in an orderly manner.

Liu Shikai, 53, is an ordinary staff member of the party group service center in Liugou Village, Lingshan Street. A few days ago, ill health was rushed to the hospital. Liu Shikai, who had just spent two days resting in the hospital, insisted on being discharged after his health improved, and immediately returned to his job of fighting the epidemic, despite his family’s persuasion.

He stayed up late and woke up early together with everyone else, never asking for special treatment because of his age. Liu Shikai started to count the nucleic acid test results in the village early in the morning, and went back and forth with the car four or five times a day to send nucleic acid test samples to Jimo City. Sitting in the transfer vehicle, he wore presbyopic glasses to notify on his cell phone: “Attention everyone, the transfer begins!”

This high sense of responsibility and mission for his work really shows the pioneering nature of a party member.

Like Liu Shulai and Liu Shikai, there are many other party members who are on the front line in the streets of Lingshan. They have no choice but to sacrifice their small families for others, interpreting their responsibility and bearing with practical actions.

Youth Practice Mission, War Epidemic Bravery

On September 14, a villager was diagnosed positive at the isolation site of Sun Jia Wangtong Grid in Wangtong Village and was designated as a high-risk area.

Yu Hailong, the secretary of the grid branch, was the first to report the case to the community and the street, and immediately took emergency measures for the village, forbidding people to enter or leave the village without leaving their homes, so as to buy time and win the battle.

After the village was classified as a high-risk area, he quickly organized personnel, less than 6 hours to complete the fence sealing control 2600 meters, tin fence 100 meters, to ensure that the sealing control in place. He also purchased a drone to help patrol the patrol, from time to time 3-5 times a day.

After the transfer work, the village still has 90 households and 159 people home health monitoring. Although Yu Hailong was home health monitoring, he insisted on working by WeChat and telephone to serve the public well and coordinate. He actively mobilized 20 volunteers from non-infected areas to go into the villages and carry out door-to-door services in the closed control areas. Using personal connections to contact epidemic prevention supplies, he has distributed more than 3,000 pounds of vegetables and 300 pounds of eggs to home health monitors. Several fruits and milk were distributed to the disadvantaged people in difficulty. In order to appease the people, he took great pains to publicize the policy, made a small video to fight the epidemic to rally the people’s hearts, and solved their daily needs such as medical treatment and medicine, winning their trust and support with practical actions.

The Sun Jiawang animal track grid in the high-risk area needed to visit the villagers for nucleic acid testing. The street quickly organized a team of volunteers. The team included retired soldiers who had just changed jobs and “post-95 party members” who had just graduated. The first warm but still cold early autumn, the temperature is repeated, but also mixed with typhoons and rain. “Even so, no team member said it was too cold, too hot and too tired, everyone was persisting.” Wang Sihan, the volunteer team leader, said.

Faced with a sudden increase in workload and a shortage of community cadres, Zhang Hao, the grid accountant of Dongjiang, said, “I am young, I apply to join the community work.” What seems to be a simple sentence is his resounding invitation to fight. He consciously joined the community prevention work, eating and living in the community. He took the initiative to undertake key personnel flow transfer, assisted in organizing files in high-risk areas, handled applications for medical treatment and hospital discharge for the public, distributed supplies for front-line staff, and took his own rice, noodles, vegetables and oil to support community logistics. With his own practical actions to guard this beloved home, and in the front line of the fight against the epidemic, he once again submitted his application to join the Party.
