The incidence of new crowns in China is 1/112 of the global rate, and the mortality rate is 1/229 of the global rate
The reporter learned from the State Council’s joint prevention and control mechanism press conference held this afternoon that China has reported a cumulative total of 254,066 confirmed cases and 75,048 asymptomatic infections, with a total of 1009,114 infections and 5,226 deaths. China’s population accounts for 18.32% of the world, and the number of newly crowned cases accounts for 0.16% of the world; the morbidity rate is 1/112 of the world according to the million population; the number of deaths accounts for 0.08% of the world; the mortality rate is 1/229 of the world according to the million population.
“Nearly three years into the new crown epidemic, everyone in the world has been affected to varying degrees, and in terms of both morbidity and mortality, the Chinese are the least affected by the new crown in the world in comparison.” Mr. Wu Zunyou, chief epidemiologist of the Chinese CDC, said at the conference.
In addition to the above comparison, Wu Zunyou cited a set of data comparing with the United States. As of Oct. 10, the World Health Organization website announced that the U.S. had 95,260,865 cumulative reported cases and 1,050,195 deaths; China itself had 254,066 cumulative confirmed cases and 75,048 asymptomatic infections, with a total of 1,009,114 infections and 5,226 deaths. The rate of new crown infections in China is 70 per 100,000 population, which is 1/483 of the United States; the mortality rate of new crown in China is 0.4 deaths per 100,000 population, which is 1/785 of the United States.
Wu Zunyou concluded that whether comparing with the effectiveness of epidemic prevention and control in the U.S. or the overall global epidemic prevention and control, China is the absolute top student, and there is no reason for us not to be confident and to doubt our prevention and control strategy.
