Four new confirmed indigenous cases and 38 indigenous asymptomatic infections in Shanghai

According to the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission’s WeChat Public News, from 0-24 hours on October 14, 2022, there were 4 new confirmed cases of indigenous New Coronary Pneumonia and 38 new asymptomatic infections, of which 3 confirmed cases and 37 asymptomatic infections were found in isolation control. There were no new overseas imported confirmed cases of NCCP and 17 new overseas imported asymptomatic infections, all of which were found in closed-loop control.

Status of local cases

From 00-24 hours on October 14, 2022, there were 4 new confirmed cases of indigenous New Coronary Pneumonia.

Case 1, residing in Qingpu District, was a person returning to Shanghai from a foreign province and was found to be abnormal in the standing nucleic acid test, which was reviewed by the city and district CDC and the nucleic acid test result was positive. The case was diagnosed as a confirmed case after consultation with municipal experts and comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings. Case 2 and Case 3, residing in Minhang District, and Case 4, residing in Songjiang District, are close contacts of previously reported infected persons from other provinces returning to Shanghai in the city. The nucleic acid test results of the new coronavirus were abnormal during the isolation and control period, and the results were reviewed by the CDC as positive. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

The situation of local asymptomatic infected persons

From 00-24 hours on October 14, 2022, there were 38 new cases of native asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected person 1, residing in Qingpu District, is a person returning to Shanghai from other provinces, who was found abnormal in the standing nucleic acid test, and the nucleic acid test result was positive after review by the city and district CDC. After municipal expert consultation, comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings, etc., the diagnosis was made as an asymptomatic infected person. Asymptomatic Infected Person 2 – Asymptomatic Infected Person 6, residing in Qingpu District, and Asymptomatic Infected Person 7, residing in Fengxian District, are both close contacts of local Asymptomatic Infected Person 1. During the isolation and control period, the nucleic acid test results of the new coronavirus were abnormal, and the results were reviewed by the CDC as positive, and the epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging results were integrated and diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

All are close contacts of previously reported infected persons from other provinces returning to Shanghai. The nucleic acid test results of the new coronavirus were abnormal during the isolation and control period, and the results were reviewed by the CDC as positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging results, etc., diagnosed as asymptomatic infected persons.

The situation of imported cases from abroad

From 00-24 hours on October 14, 2022, there were no new confirmed cases of imported neocrown pneumonia from abroad. Three cases were cured and discharged, including one case from the United States, one case from France, and one case from Germany.

Asymptomatic infected person 1 is a Chinese national, working in France, departed from France and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 7, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for New Coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected person 2 was of Chinese nationality, studied in the UK, departed from the UK, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 8, 2022, and was placed under intensive quarantine observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected person 3 was of Chinese nationality, living in UAE, departed from UAE and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 10, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for the new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected patients4 were of Chinese nationality, working in Switzerland, departed from Switzerland, transferred through France, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 10, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected patients5 were of Chinese nationality, working in Hong Kong, departed from Hong Kong and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 11, 2022, and were placed under intensive quarantine observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected patients6 were of Chinese nationality, working in the Netherlands, departed from the Netherlands and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 11, 2022, and were placed under intensive quarantine observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected person 7 and asymptomatic infected person 8 are both of Chinese nationality. Asymptomatic infected person 7 was visiting relatives in Canada and asymptomatic infected person 8 was living in Canada. Asymptomatic infected person 7 and asymptomatic infected person 8 departed from Canada on the same flight and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 12, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected person 9 was a German national living in Germany, and asymptomatic infected person 10 was a Canadian national working in Germany. Asymptomatic infected person 9 and asymptomatic infected person 10 departed from Germany, took the same flight, and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 12, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation after entering customs, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected person 11 is a Danish national and lives in Denmark, asymptomatic infected person 12 and asymptomatic infected person 13 are both Chinese nationals, asymptomatic infected person 12 lives in Denmark, asymptomatic infected person 13 studied in Denmark, asymptomatic infected person 11-asymptomatic infected person 13 departed from Denmark, took the same flight and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport and was placed in centralized isolation for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected person 14 was a resident of Taiwan, visiting relatives in Taiwan, departing from Taiwan, and asymptomatic infected person 15 was a resident of Taiwan, traveling in Cambodia, departing from Cambodia, transiting through Thailand and Taiwan. Asymptomatic infected person 14 and asymptomatic infected person 15 took the same flight and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 13, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

The asymptomatic infected person16 was of Chinese nationality, visiting relatives in New Zealand, departed from New Zealand and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 13, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

The asymptomatic infected person17 was of Chinese nationality, visiting relatives in the United States, departed from the United States, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 13, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Seventeen cases of imported asymptomatic infections from abroad have been transferred to designated medical institutions for medical observation, and 253 close contacts of the same flight have been tracked, all of whom have been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.

From 0-24 hours on October 14, 2022, 11 cases of asymptomatic infected persons were released from medical observation, including 3 cases of local asymptomatic infected persons and 8 cases of overseas imported asymptomatic infected persons.

From 0:00 on July 3, 2022 to 24:00 on October 14, 2022, a total of 198 cases were confirmed locally, 195 cases were cured and discharged, 27 cases were treated in hospital, and 0 cases died; 1066 cases of asymptomatic infections were reported. There are 0 suspected cases to be investigated.

As of 24:00 on October 14, 2022, there were 5499 cumulative overseas imported confirmed cases, 5468 cases discharged and 31 cases under hospital treatment. There are 0 suspected cases to be investigated.
