New crown pneumonia epidemic in Guangdong Province on October 17, 2022

From 0 to 24 hours on October 16, there were 23 new local confirmed cases in the province (3 in Guangzhou, 10 in Shenzhen, 6 in Foshan, 1 in Huizhou, 1 in Dongguan and 2 in Zhongshan); 38 new local asymptomatic infections (27 in Guangzhou, 5 in Shenzhen, 1 in Huizhou, 4 in Dongguan and 1 in Zhongshan). The province has 17 new confirmed cases of imported foreign cases (Guangzhou 8, Shenzhen 7, Foshan 1, Zhaoqing 1); 17 new cases of imported foreign asymptomatic infections (Guangzhou 8, Shenzhen 2, Foshan 6, Dongguan 1); and 1 case of imported foreign asymptomatic infections to confirmed cases (Shenzhen 1).
There are 51 new cases discharged from the province (24 cases imported from abroad), 683 cases are currently in the hospital (193 cases imported from abroad); 43 new cases of asymptomatic infections were released from medical observation (23 cases imported from abroad), 400 cases of asymptomatic infections are still under medical observation (159 cases imported from abroad).
As of 24:00 on October 16, the province reported a total of 21,783 positive cases of new pneumonia (13,470 cases imported from abroad), including 10,937 confirmed cases (5,652 cases imported from abroad) and 10,846 asymptomatic cases (7,818 cases imported from abroad).
