10 new cases of indigenous asymptomatic infections in Shanghai on October 19, all found in isolation control

On October 19, 2022 from 00-24 hours, there were no new confirmed cases of indigenous New Coronary Pneumonia and 10 new indigenous asymptomatic infections, all of which were found in isolation control. There were 2 new confirmed cases of imported extranational New Crown pneumonia and 18 new asymptomatic infections, all of which were found in closed-loop control.

Status of local cases

There were no new confirmed cases of indigenous New Coronary Pneumonia from 00-24 hours on October 19, 2022. One case was cured and discharged from the hospital.

There were 10 new cases of indigenous asymptomatic infections from 0-24 October 19, 2022.

All are close contacts of previously reported local infected persons from other provinces returning to Shanghai. The nucleic acid test results of the new coronavirus were abnormal during the isolation and control period, and the results were reviewed by the CDC as positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

All of them were foreigners from other provinces and were controlled after arrival in Shanghai, during which the nucleic acid test results of the new coronavirus were abnormal. The results of the nucleic acid test were reviewed by the city and district CDC and were positive. After municipal expert consultation, comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings, etc., asymptomatic infections were diagnosed.

Asymptomatic infected person 9 and asymptomatic infected person 10, residing in Songjiang District, were found to be abnormal during routine nucleic acid testing of closed-loop management key personnel. The nucleic acid test result was reviewed by the city and district CDC and was positive. The situation of imported cases from abroad

On October 19, 2022, from 0-24 hours, two confirmed cases of overseas imported neocrown pneumonia were reported through the joint prevention and control mechanism at the port. Four cases were cured and discharged, including two cases from Korea, one case from Canada and one case from France.

Case 1 was a Chinese national who studied in Australia, departed from Australia, transferred via New Zealand, and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 16, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which he developed symptoms. A comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were used to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 2 was a Chinese national working in the United Kingdom, who arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 17, 2022 from the United Kingdom with a connecting flight via Finland, and was placed under intensive quarantine upon entry for observation, during which he developed symptoms. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as confirmed cases.

Two cases of overseas imported confirmed cases have been transferred to designated medical institutions for treatment, and 62 close contacts of the same flight have been traced, all of whom have been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.

From 00-24 hours on October 19, 2022, there were 18 new cases of imported asymptomatic infections from abroad.

Asymptomatic infected person 1 is a Chinese national, studying in the United States, departed from the United States and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 11, 2022, and was placed under centralized isolation and observation after entering the customs, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. Asymptomatic infected person 2 was of Chinese nationality, visiting relatives in Canada, departed from Canada and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 12, 2022, and was placed under intensive quarantine observation upon entry into the country, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected person 3 was a resident of Taiwan, China, visiting relatives in Taiwan, departed from Taiwan and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 13, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Asymptomatic infected patients4 were of Chinese nationality, visiting relatives in Australia, departed from Australia, transferred via New Zealand, and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 13, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Asymptomatic infected person 5 and asymptomatic infected person 6, both of Chinese nationality, were visiting relatives in Canada, departed from Canada, took the same flight, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 14, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Asymptomatic infected patients7 were of Chinese nationality, working in Japan, departed from Japan and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 14, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. Asymptomatic Infected Person 11 and Asymptomatic Infected Person 12 are both Chinese nationals and Asymptomatic Infected Person 13 is a Canadian national. Asymptomatic Infected Person 11 was visiting relatives in Canada, Asymptomatic Infected Person 12 and Asymptomatic Infected Person 13 were living in Canada. arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 17, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. The asymptomatic infected person18 was of Chinese nationality, working in the Netherlands, departed from the Netherlands and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 18, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Eighteen cases of imported asymptomatic infections from abroad have been transferred to designated medical institutions for medical observation, and 230 close contacts of the same flight have been tracked, all of whom have been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.

From 0-24 hours on October 19, 2022, 53 cases of asymptomatic infected persons were released from medical observation, including 28 cases of local asymptomatic infected persons and 25 cases of overseas imported asymptomatic infected persons.
