10 new cases of indigenous asymptomatic infections in Shanghai yesterday

On October 30, 2022 from 00-24 hours, there were no new confirmed cases of indigenous New Coronary Pneumonia and 10 new indigenous asymptomatic infections, of which 9 asymptomatic infections were found in isolation control. There were 4 new confirmed cases of imported Neoplastic pneumonia and 30 new asymptomatic infections from abroad.

Status of indigenous cases

There were no new confirmed cases of indigenous New Coronary Pneumonia from 00-24 hours on October 30, 2022. One case was cured and discharged from the hospital.

Status of native asymptomatic infected persons

There were 10 new cases of native asymptomatic infections from 00-24 hours on October 30, 2022.

Asymptomatic infected person 1, residing in Minhang District, was found abnormal in the standing nucleic acid test. The nucleic acid test result was positive after review by the city and district CDC. Diagnosed as asymptomatic infected person after consultation with municipal experts and comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings. Asymptomatic infected person 2, residing in Pudong New Area, was a close contact of a previously reported local infected person from a foreign province to Shanghai in the city. The nucleic acid test result of the new coronavirus was abnormal during the isolation control period, and the result was reviewed by the CDC as positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected person 3 – Asymptomatic infected person 8, residing in Pudong New Area, and asymptomatic infected person 9, residing in Xuhui District, were close contacts of the local asymptomatic infected person reported in the city on October 29. The nucleic acid test results of the new coronavirus were abnormal during isolation control and were reviewed by the CDC with positive results. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infected persons.

Asymptomatic infected person 10, temporarily living in Fengxian District, is a person who came to Shanghai from other provinces and was implemented for control after arriving in Shanghai, during which the nucleic acid test result of the new coronavirus was abnormal. Reviewed by the city and district CDC, the nucleic acid test result was positive. After municipal expert consultation, comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings, etc., the diagnosis was made as asymptomatic infected person.

The situation of imported cases from abroad

On October 30, 2022, from 0-24 hours, four confirmed cases of overseas imported neocrown pneumonia were reported through the joint prevention and control mechanism at the port. Four cases were cured and discharged, including one case from Malaysia, one case from Canada, one case from the UK, and one case from Taiwan.

Case 1 was of Chinese nationality, working in France, departed from France, transferred via Hong Kong, and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 21, 2022, and was placed under intensive isolation and observation upon entry, during which symptoms developed. A comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were used to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 2 was a Chinese national, working in the UK, who departed from the UK and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 22, 2022, and was placed under intensive isolation for observation upon arrival, during which he developed symptoms. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 3 was a Chinese national who worked in Germany and departed from Germany and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 27, 2022, and was placed under intensive isolation for observation upon entry, during which she developed symptoms. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 4 was a Malaysian national, living in Malaysia, who departed from Malaysia and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 28, 2022, and was placed under intensive isolation for observation upon entry, during which she developed symptoms. The comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were used to diagnose a confirmed case.

Four cases of overseas imported confirmed cases have been transferred to designated medical institutions for treatment, and 78 close contacts have been traced on the same flight, all of whom have been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.

From 00-24 hours on October 30, 2022, there were 30 new cases of imported asymptomatic infections from abroad.

Asymptomatic infected person 2 was a Chinese national living in the United States, departed from the United States, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 20, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Asymptomatic infected person 3 was a Canadian national living in Canada, asymptomatic infected person 4 and asymptomatic infected person 5 were both Chinese nationals, asymptomatic infected person 4 was visiting relatives in Canada, asymptomatic infected person 5 was studying in Canada, asymptomatic infected person 3 – asymptomatic infected person 5 departed from Canada, took the same flight and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport and was placed under intensive isolation for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected patients6 were of Chinese nationality, working in the Netherlands, departed from the Netherlands and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 25, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. Asymptomatic infected patients7 were of Chinese nationality, visiting relatives in Canada, departing from Canada and arriving at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 26, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. Asymptomatic infected person 13 is a Canadian national and lives in Canada, asymptomatic infected person 14 and asymptomatic infected person 15 are both Chinese nationals, asymptomatic infected person 14 lives in Canada, asymptomatic infected person 15 works in Canada, asymptomatic infected person 13-asymptomatic infected person 15 departed from Canada, took the same flight and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 28, 2022 arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Thirty cases of imported asymptomatic infections from abroad have been transferred to designated medical institutions for medical observation, and 535 close contacts of the same flight have been tracked, all of whom have been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.

On October 30, 2022, from 0-24 hours, 31 cases of asymptomatic infected persons were released from medical observation, including 17 cases of local asymptomatic infected persons and 14 cases of overseas imported asymptomatic infected persons.

From 0000 hours on July 3, 2022 to 2400 hours on October 30, 2022, a total of 204 cases were confirmed locally, 221 cases were cured and discharged, 7 cases were treated in hospital, and 0 cases died; there were 1299 cases of asymptomatic infections. There are 0 suspected cases to be ranked.
