According to the Macau SAR Government website, the Macau Novel Coronavirus Infection Response Coordination Center (hereinafter referred to as the Response Coordination Center) announced that today (25) the requirement that only a single sample of the nucleic acid test for the new coronavirus can be performed within 90 days of the release from quarantine for people infected with the new coronavirus has been lifted.

According to the Strain Coordination Center, in response to the epidemic and the adjustment of the prevention and control policy, the Department of Health has earlier abolished the requirement that people with a history of foreign residence within one month can only undergo single sample testing for the new coronavirus; and today (25) also abolished the requirement that formerly infected people can only undergo single sample testing for the new coronavirus within 90 days of release from quarantine. There is no longer any restriction on mixed sample testing, except for those with positive mixed tubes who are required to undergo single sample testing within 2 days.

The Strain Coordination Center points out that nucleic acid test results are often positive in newly coronavirus-infected persons for a period of time after recovery (as short as 1-2 weeks and as long as 3-4 weeks). Considering the presence of a large number of newly coronavirus-infected or previously infected persons in the community, the chance of a positive mixed sample is higher, and residents are recommended to receive single sample testing if they urgently need to obtain negative nucleic acid test results due to departure or other reasons; on the other hand, residents On the other hand, residents, especially those who are newly infected, are advised not to undergo nucleic acid testing without special needs (e.g. customs clearance).
