21255 new positive cases of new coronavirus in Hong Kong

Hong Kong SAR Government Department of Health Health Protection Center announced on the 25th, as of zero hour on that day, Hong Kong added 21255 new positive cases of coronavirus. Hong Kong AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE Museum) has a quarantine center will be used as a temporary care center in the next two days to receive the relevant confirmed cases of people.
Among the new cases, 20,291 were local cases, including 3928 positive nucleic acid test cases, 16,363 positive rapid test cases. There were also 964 imported cases. In the past day, 50 more confirmed patients passed away.
In addition, the Social Welfare Department (SWD) announced on the same day that the quarantine centers located at AWE Pavilion 9 and Pavilion 6 will be converted into respite centers on the 25th and 26th respectively to receive confirmed elderly and disabled persons with mild or no symptoms.
SWD said the respite centers at AWE Pavilion 9 and Pavilion 6 will each provide 270 beds. The Hospital Authority will collaborate with private medical institutions to provide medical support for the centers. (End)
