One week before the start of back-to-school, students carry out daily health self-tests at home such as measuring body temperature and observing clinical symptoms related to new crown infections. When symptoms such as fever, dry cough, weakness and sore throat appear, antigen or nucleic acid tests should be conducted and the Health Abnormalities Completion Form should be filled out truthfully. If the test result is positive, delay the return to school.

Some schools also mention that an antigen or nucleic acid test should be done one day before school starts; if symptoms such as fever, dry cough, weakness, sore throat, etc. occur, an antigen or nucleic acid test should be done promptly, fill out the Health Abnormalities Report Form truthfully and report to the school, and if the test result is positive, return to school will be delayed.

This reporter saw in the relevant documents of some district education bureaux in Hangzhou, the relevant departments have made detailed regulations for the new semester campus epidemic, such as the adoption of grade-by-grade, batch-by-batch and time-slot reporting, and the orderly organization of students’ return to school.

Each school is required to make health monitoring one week before returning to school and returning to work a pre-requisite for the first entry to campus at the start of spring. Students, faculty and staff will have their temperatures taken upon entry to school and febrile symptoms will be detected to take appropriate measures such as detention in a timely manner. Nucleic acid screening will no longer be conducted for all students, faculty and staff, and nucleic acid or antigen-negative certificates will no longer be checked when entering or leaving the school gates and public areas of the campus. When the epidemic is not in full swing, off-campus personnel are required to take temperature measurements, wear masks, and register, and are no longer required to check for negative nucleic acid or antigen certificates; when the epidemic is at its peak, off-campus personnel are required to provide negative nucleic acid or antigen certificates to enter the campus.

Schools should be prepared to conduct education and teaching both online and offline according to the local and school epidemic situation. During non-epidemic times, schools will carry out normal offline teaching and learning activities. At the peak of the epidemic, primary and secondary schools and kindergartens adopt strict closed management. After the emergence of infected persons on campus, primary and secondary schools implement the preventive and control measures proposed by the District Education Bureau in collaboration with health and disease control departments on a class or grade level basis; kindergartens take temporary closure measures in a timely manner. After the epidemic is lifted, normal education and teaching will resume in a timely manner.
