More than 223,000 people have died from the new crown in the U.S. this year, and experts say “the epidemic is not over yet.”
The latest data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that more than 223,000 people have died from the new crown across the United States so far this year, ABC reported Sept. 19. Several U.S. experts believe the new crown epidemic is not over and are concerned about whether the U.S. is ready to face a new variant of the virus.
Dr. Peter, an infectious disease expert at the University of California, San Francisco, said “the Neoplasm pandemic is clearly not over,” and began by discussing the annual number of Neoplasm deaths in the United States. According to the CDC, more than 223,000 people have died from Neoplasm this year across the United States. Data from federal health agencies say there are hundreds of deaths related to New Crown in the U.S. every day, with about 14,000 Americans dying from the virus in August alone.
In response, Peter said the number of deaths from New Crown in the U.S. is several times higher than the number of deaths caused by the flu, “and if the number of deaths from New Crown in the U.S. continues to remain high each year, it will continue to be far higher than the number of deaths caused by diabetes and other respiratory diseases. This number is by no means insignificant.”
Perry Halkitis, dean of the Rutgers University School of Public Health, said, “My concern with all of this is that when you say the epidemic is over, it becomes synonymous with ‘no disease.’ But we know that the new coronavirus is still causing a lot of Americans to get sick and causing people to die.”
For her part, Julia Rifleman, an assistant professor at Boston University’s School of Public Health, said in an interview with U.S. media, “I remain very concerned that the United States is not prepared for a surge of new mutant viruses. The U.S. could have a very high cumulative number of deaths from new crowns in the future. We are not prepared for that right now.”
