This reporter was informed by the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission that between 0000 and 2400 hours on October 9, 2022, there were 5 new local confirmed cases and 15 local asymptomatic infections in Guangzhou, all of which were found during the screening of people included in the isolation observation. There were 12 new overseas imported confirmed cases, 14 overseas imported asymptomatic infections, and 1 previously announced overseas imported asymptomatic infection to confirmed case.

As of 24:00 on October 9, 2022, the city reported a total of 7,463 cases of positive new coronary pneumonia infections. Of these, 3771 were confirmed cases (2604 imported from abroad and 1167 indigenous), 216 were still under hospital treatment; 3692 were asymptomatic infections (3371 imported from abroad and 321 indigenous), and 108 were still under medical observation.

There are 5 new confirmed cases and 15 local asymptomatic cases.

Local confirmed case 1: male, 49 years old.

Local confirmed case 2: male, 40 years old.

The above cases 1 and 2 are the same unit personnel and associated close contacts of the case announced in Guangzhou on October 2, and tested positive for nucleic acid during the isolation period.

Local confirmed case 3: Female, 55 years old.

Local confirmed case 4: male, 52 years old.

Local confirmed case 5: female, 30 years old.

Indigenous asymptomatic infected person 1: female, 56 years old.

Native asymptomatic infected person 2: female, 29 years old.

Native asymptomatic infected person 3: male, 47 years old.

Native asymptomatic infected person 4: male, 51 years old.

The above cases 3-5 and asymptomatic infected persons 1-4 are close contacts of the recently announced cases from other provinces in Guangzhou, and have been isolated for observation.

Local asymptomatic infected person 5: male, 47 years old.

Local asymptomatic infected person 6: male, 40 years old.

Native asymptomatic infected person 7: female, 51 years old.

Native asymptomatic infected person 8: male, 32 years old.

Native asymptomatic infected person 9: male, 50 years old.

The above asymptomatic infected persons 5-9 came to Guangzhou from other provinces by the same train on October 7, and were notified that the 5 were close contacts of the infected persons in the same compartment of the train they were on.

Local asymptomatic infected person 10: male, 58 years old.

Native asymptomatic infected person 11: female, 33 years old.

The above asymptomatic infected persons 10 and 11 were recently announced in Guangzhou as fellow travelers who came to Guangzhou by car from other provinces, all of them were implemented for isolation and observation, and tested positive for nucleic acid during the isolation period.

Local asymptomatic infected person 12: male, 43 years old.

Local asymptomatic infected person 13: male, 49 years old.

The above asymptomatic infected persons 12 and 13 are the same unit personnel and associated close contacts of the case announced in Guangzhou on October 2, and tested positive for nucleic acid during the isolation period.

Local asymptomatic infected person 14: Female, 38 years old, came to Guangzhou by train from other provinces on October 8, and was informed that she was a close contact of the case from other provinces, and was isolated and observed.

Local asymptomatic infected person 15: male, 40 years old, came to Guangzhou by train from other provinces on October 9, and was informed of his abnormal nucleic acid during the journey.

The above 20 infected people have been transferred to Guangzhou Medical University Hospital for isolation and treatment. Relevant close contacts and places involved in the disease have been controlled.

There are 12 new confirmed cases and 14 asymptomatic infected persons imported from abroad.

There are 12 new confirmed cases imported from abroad, 7 from Germany, 2 each from Bangladesh and France, and 1 from Laos. There are 14 cases of asymptomatic infections imported from abroad, 4 from Germany, 2 each from Laos, India and the United States, and 1 each from Kuwait, Myanmar, Korea and the United Arab Emirates.
