The Municipal Health Commission informed this morning (November 9) that from 0-24 hours on November 8, 2022, there were no new confirmed cases of indigenous New Coronary Pneumonia and four new indigenous asymptomatic infections, all of which were found in isolation control. There were 3 new confirmed cases of imported New Coronary Pneumonia from abroad and 17 new asymptomatic infections.
Status of indigenous cases
From 0-24 hours on November 8, 2022, there were no new confirmed cases of indigenous New Coronary Pneumonia. Three cases were cured and discharged from the hospital.
Status of native asymptomatic infected patients
From 0-24 hours on November 8, 2022, there were 4 new cases of native asymptomatic infections.
Asymptomatic infected person 1 and asymptomatic infected person 2, residing in Pudong New Area, were returning to Shanghai from other provinces and were implemented for control after arrival in Shanghai, during which the nucleic acid test results of the new crown virus were abnormal. The nucleic acid test results were reviewed by the city and district CDC and were positive. After municipal expert consultation, comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings, etc., the diagnosis was made as asymptomatic infected person.
Asymptomatic infected person 3 and asymptomatic infected person 4, residing in Yangpu District, were close contacts of the local asymptomatic infected person reported by the city on November 6. The nucleic acid test results of the new coronavirus were abnormal during the isolation and control period, and the results were reviewed by the CDC as positive. Case 2 was a Chinese national who worked in the United States and departed from the United States and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 3, 2022, and was placed under intensive isolation for observation upon entry, during which she developed symptoms. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.
Case 3 was a Chinese national working in Austria who arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 5, 2022 from Austria and was placed under intensive isolation for observation upon arrival, during which he developed symptoms. The comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings led to the diagnosis of a confirmed case.
Three cases of overseas imported confirmed cases have been transferred to designated medical institutions for treatment, and close contacts of the same flight have been previously implemented for centralized isolation and observation.
