From 0 to 24 hours on December 5, there were 1,689 new local confirmed cases in the province (1,109 in Guangzhou, 131 in Shenzhen, 15 in Zhuhai, 30 in Shantou, 18 in Foshan, 33 in Shaoguan, 9 in Heyuan, 42 in Huizhou, 3 in Zhongshan, 35 in Jiangmen, 26 in Yangjiang, 93 in Zhanjiang, 82 in Maoming, 25 in Zhaoqing, 18 in Qingyuan, 14 in Chaozhou, and 6 in Yunfu). 3,421 new local asymptomatic infections (2,262 cases in Guangzhou, 92 cases in Shenzhen, 25 cases in Zhuhai, 59 cases in Shantou, 165 cases in Foshan, 33 cases in Shaoguan, 39 cases in Heyuan, 46 cases in Meizhou, 70 cases in Huizhou, 43 cases in Shanwei, 90 cases in Dongguan, 123 cases in Zhongshan, 34 cases in Jiangmen, 13 cases in Yangjiang, 54 cases in Zhanjiang, 15 cases in Maoming, 39 cases in Zhaoqing, 69 cases in Qingyuan, 69 cases in Chaozhou (11 cases, Jieyang 112 cases, Yunfu 27 cases); another 431 cases of local asymptomatic infected people to confirmed cases (396 cases in Guangzhou, 3 cases in Zhuhai, 4 cases in Shantou, 1 case in Shaoguan, 1 case in Zhongshan, 1 case in Jiangmen, 1 case in Maoming, 3 cases in Qingyuan, 20 cases in Chaozhou, 1 case in Jieyang). The province imported 15 new confirmed cases (Guangzhou 6 cases, Shenzhen 7 cases, Foshan 2 cases); 28 new cases of asymptomatic infections imported from abroad (Guangzhou 9 cases, Shenzhen 2 cases, Zhuhai 2 cases, Foshan 9 cases, Dongguan 4 cases, Jiangmen 2 cases).

The province discharged 1,185 cases (28 cases imported from abroad), currently 14,204 cases (167 cases imported from abroad); 6,469 cases (27 cases imported from abroad) were released from medical observation and 75,000 cases (222 cases imported from abroad) were still under medical observation.

As of 24:00 on December 5, the province has reported a total of 221,865 cases of new positive pneumonia infections (15,397 cases imported from abroad), including 46,450 confirmed cases (6,452 cases imported from abroad) and 175,415 asymptomatic infections (8,945 cases imported from abroad).
