According to Italian news agency Adnkronos, Italian government sources said Sciracci said the Italian side “asked its EU partners to do the same”. Bloomberg reported earlier that Sciracci said Italy had written to the EU health commissioner to explain the decision to introduce new coronavirus tests for Chinese travelers and to ask the EU to reach an agreement on the tests.
