At a press conference on the prevention and control of the city’s epidemic held this afternoon (September 18), Wu Qianyu, first-level inspector of the Shanghai Municipal Health and Wellness Commission, informed that today, there was one new case of local asymptomatic infection in the city’s community. The city and district epidemic prevention and control emergency response mechanism immediately responded to fully carry out epidemiological investigation, related personnel screening, sampling and testing and prevention and control management, the implementation of related premises and environmental final disinfection and other epidemic prevention measures. This case of positive infection has been transferred to the designated medical institution for isolated medical observation.
Infected person: female, 64 years old, living in Steaming Summer Village, Liantang Town, Qingpu District, with abnormal nucleic acid screening mixed tube test results on September 17, was rechecked by the CDC department as positive for nucleic acid test for New Coronavirus and was diagnosed as asymptomatic infected person.
