Macau: From January 8, people entering Macau from Mainland China are not required to show any proof of new coronavirus testing

According to the website of the Macau SAR Government on January 5, the Health Bureau of the Macau SAR issued a notice to adjust the measures for entry and transit prevention of epidemics. The measures starting from 0000 hours on January 8, 2023 are

i. Resume transit operations at the Macau International Airport.

ii. The abolition of special restrictions on entry of foreign passport holders, so that all nationalities may enter the MSAR from any region without prior approval from the health authorities, provided that they comply with other entry conditions.

iii. abolishing the compulsory entry health declaration measures at all ports of entry and the post-entry health management measures.

IV. Proof of new coronavirus testing for entrants.

(a) Persons entering the MSAR from countries and regions other than China shall present proof of negative neo-coronavirus antigen test or nucleic acid test conducted within 48 hours upon boarding a plane or ship to come to the MSAR.

(b) Persons entering the Macao Special Administrative Region from Mainland China, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region or Taiwan are not required to present any proof of neo-coronavirus testing.

(e) Persons entering the Macao Special Administrative Region from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Taiwan or countries and regions outside China are required to present proof of negative nucleic acid test for NCA within 48 hours of sampling when departing for Mainland China within the 7th day from the day of entry (48 hours after the sampling date for Zhuhai-Macau port, other ports are subject to the requirements of the destination port).
