From January 8, 2023, Taiyuan city employees’ basic medical insurance and urban and rural residents’ basic medical insurance participants can be reimbursed for expenses related to the treatment of neocoronavirus infection in primary medical institutions (secondary and lower designated medical institutions) for outpatient and emergency care due to neocoronavirus infection and suspected symptoms. This policy is tentatively scheduled to be implemented until March 31, 2023.

According to the introduction, the reimbursement does not set a starting line and a cap line, the amount in line with the scope of reimbursement according to 70%, the reimbursement amount does not include the outpatient coordination limit and the annual limit of basic medical insurance.

At present, all 1634 eligible medical institutions in Taiyuan have opened the “new crown outpatient” medical insurance settlement function, which can provide real-time settlement of the new crown outpatient and emergency treatment costs for the eligible participants.

At 1:30 a.m. on January 8, patient Wang settled his treatment costs at the central hospital in Xinghualing District, Taiyuan City, becoming the first patient to settle the outpatient treatment costs for the new coronavirus infection.

In order to ensure that patients can enjoy medical insurance services in a timely manner, Taiyuan Medical Insurance Center has researched and formulated the implementation methods in Taiyuan according to the relevant policy requirements, and precisely guided the docking system development unit to ensure that the reimbursement policy for outpatient and emergency treatment costs of new coronavirus infection is implemented on time.

At the same time, Taiyuan Medical Insurance Center drew up the “New Coronavirus Infection Outpatient and Emergency Medical Treatment Procedure” in time to guide the designated medical institutions to carry out outpatient and emergency medical treatment for patients with new coronavirus infection.

On the first day of the opening of the “new coronavirus outpatient” medical insurance settlement function, Taiyuan City successfully settled a total of 73 people, the total cost of 15847.14 yuan, the overall payment of 11093.05 yuan, the total reimbursement ratio of 70%.
