4766 new positive cases of new coronavirus in Hong Kong

The Centre for Health Protection (hereafter referred to as “CHP”) of the Department of Health of the HKSAR Government announced on October 31 that as of 00:00 on October 31, there were 4766 new positive cases of new coronavirus in Hong Kong.
Among the above new cases, there are 4320 new local cases and 446 new imported cases. In addition, 12 new confirmed patients were reported to have passed away in the past day.
It is reported that the Centre for Health Protection has been closely following up on positive test cases involving newly identified mutant strains of the virus through genetic analysis. As of 0000 hours on October 31, the Public Health Laboratory Services of the Department of Health has detected a total of 202 cases of XBB, 6 cases of XBD, 8 cases of BA.2.75.2, 6 cases of BA.4.6, 11 cases of BF.7 and 22 cases of BQ.1.1 sub-lineage among imported cases, and a total of 6 cases of XBD, 1 case of BA.2.75.2 and 7 cases of BQ.1.1 sub-lineage among local cases. The spokesperson of the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) pointed out that the new coronary heart disease (NCHD) has been detected in the local population.
A spokesman for the Centre for Health Protection pointed out that the new coronavirus vaccine is highly effective in preventing severe and fatal cases of novel coronavirus disease and can provide effective protection for those who have not yet received the new coronavirus vaccine, so people should receive it as soon as possible to protect themselves.
