According to the website of the Hubei Provincial Health Commission, from 0-24 hours on October 17, there were 5 new local confirmed cases in Hubei province (5 cases in Xiangyang), 32 new local asymptomatic infections (15 cases in Xiangyang, all detected in isolation sites; 13 cases in Wuhan, 9 of which were detected in control areas and isolation sites; 2 cases in Suizhou, 1 case in Jingzhou, 1 case in Xiaogan, all detected in isolation sites), new foreign imported 0 confirmed cases, 1 new case of overseas imported asymptomatic infected (imported from Hong Kong, China), 0 new suspected cases, 0 new fatal cases, 0 cases discharged on the same day, 22 cases of asymptomatic infected discharged from medical observation on the same day (8 cases in Wuhan, 7 cases in Jingzhou, 1 case in Jingmen, 1 case in Xiaogan, 1 case in Huanggang, 1 case in Suizhou, 1 case in Xiantao; 2 cases of overseas imported).

As of 24:00 on October 17, there were 7 confirmed local cases treated in designated medical institutions (5 cases in Xiangyang, 1 case of common type and 4 cases of light type; 1 case in Wuhan and 1 case in Huangshi, both of which were light type) and 0 suspected cases. There are still 468 cases of local asymptomatic infected persons under centralized isolation for medical observation (162 cases in Wuhan, 77 cases in Xiantao, 71 cases in Jingzhou, 40 cases in Jingmen, 28 cases in Huanggang, 25 cases in Xiangyang, 19 cases in Suizhou, 12 cases in Shiyan, 11 cases in Enshi, 10 cases in Yichang, 4 cases in Ezhou, 4 cases in Xiaogan, 2 cases in Huangshi, 2 cases in Tianmen and 1 case in Qianjiang).

The province’s cumulative number of cured cases discharged from the hospital is 63,917, the cumulative number of deaths is 4,512, and the cumulative number of confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia is 68,437. There are 32,853 close contacts who are still under centralized isolation for medical observation.
