Han said that by the end of February next year, all travelers from China will be required to show negative results of PCR or antigen tests for the novel coronavirus before boarding flights to South Korea. They should receive a PCR test within 48 hours prior to arrival or an antigen test within 24 hours prior to arrival. Also, all travelers from China will be required to undergo PCR testing on their first day of arrival in Korea.

At the same time, South Korea will also restrict the issuance of short-term visas to Chinese citizens and temporarily suspend the expansion of flights to China.

At a regular press conference of the Chinese Foreign Ministry on December 29, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said that China has always believed that countries should take scientific and appropriate measures to prevent the epidemic, treat citizens of all countries equally, and should not affect normal human interaction and exchange and cooperation. We hope that all parties will uphold scientific principles, work together to ensure the safe movement of people from all countries, maintain the stability of the global industrial chain supply chain, and contribute to international solidarity against the epidemic and world economic recovery.
