Hunan implement provincial expert rounds and consultation system for serious cases

In order to further strengthen the treatment of severe cases of new coronavirus infection, and effectively improve the standardization and homogenization of severe treatment and the effectiveness of treatment, the province established a provincial expert rounds and consultation mechanism for the treatment of severe cases of new coronavirus infection.

The reporter learned from the medical treatment group of Hunan Province New Coronavirus Infection Prevention and Control Command that experienced experts will be organized to carry out rounds and consultations on the treatment of severe New Coronavirus infection in accordance with the needs of the treatment work in due course. The visiting experts will go deep into the front line of critical care, bedside visits to understand the condition of critical patients, on-site guidance to optimize the treatment plan, strengthen the follow-up of key cases, and continuously improve the standardization of critical care, homogenization level and medical treatment effect.

According to “Hunan Province New Coronavirus Infection Critical Case Subdivision Expert Rounds and Consultation System (Trial)”, experts of provincial-level groups conduct daily check-ups and consultations for critically ill patients in the cities and states under their guidance, especially for patients of the critical type of New Coronavirus, patients requiring ECMO supportive treatment, and patients with extremely unstable vital signs, and give timely treatment guidance. Each group is scheduled by the group leader, and one specialist will be assigned to dock with the city and state daily to complete rounds. In case of special and critical patients, the group of experts will collectively consult and guide the treatment.

At the same time, each place establishes a responsibility system of subdivision of tertiary hospitals and does a good job of subdivision.
