What should I do about the “top 10” symptoms and “four systemic” sequelae in the early stage of the new crown?

  1. The “Ten Symptoms” of Newcastle

The “ten symptoms” of NPS are fever, dry cough, fatigue, loss of smell and taste, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, conjunctivitis, myalgia, and diarrhea.

  1. Sequelae of neoconiosis (also known as long-term symptoms of neoconiosis)

Sequelae: Defects or functional disorders of certain tissues or organs that remain after the disease has largely resolved.

Post-New Coronary Pneumonia Sequelae (also known as New Coronary Long-term Symptoms)

According to global studies, sequelae of Neocon pneumonia include: weakness or fatigue, impaired thinking or inability to concentrate, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, headache, dizziness, rapid heartbeat, chest pain, cough, joint or muscle pain, depression or anxiety, fever, loss of smell or taste, and more. These symptoms can last for weeks, months or even longer. Among them, loss of smell or taste, respiratory sequelae, circulatory sequelae, sequelae related to psychological and cognitive disorders

2.1 Perceptual and neurological systems: sequelae of taste and smell loss

The most susceptible organ to neocoronavirus is the lung, which has a protein called “ACE2 receptor” on the surface of the lung cells, through which the neocoronavirus invades the lungs, eventually causing respiratory symptoms such as cough and dyspnea. In addition, ACE2 receptors are also present in the nasal mucosa and tongue mucosa, which can be attacked by the new coronavirus and cause smell and taste disorders.

2.2. Respiratory sequelae

Decreased cardiopulmonary exercise tolerance is one of the most frequent symptoms in patients recovering from neocoronavirus pneumonia.

One of the causes of persistent dyspnea and fatigue in patients after novel coronavirus infection is the marked myopathic character of the diaphragm in critically ill patients with neocoronary pneumonia, and interstitial lung injury may be another factor contributing to this condition.

Evidence suggests that abnormal diffusion capacity of diffuse volume of pulmonary carbon monoxide (DLCO) and chest CT showing interstitial injury are present in a significant proportion of patients recovering from neoconjunctive pneumonia.

2.3 Circulatory sequelae

The cardiac complications arising from neocoronary pneumonia are numerous and include hypertension, arrhythmias, coronary atherosclerosis and heart failure, the presence of which is associated with an increased risk of arrhythmias.

The etiology includes viral-induced myocardial injury, hypoxia, hypotension, enhanced inflammatory state, angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptor downregulation, and drug toxicity of new coronary pneumonia treatment drugs such as hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin.

2.4 Psychological and cognitive impairment-related sequelae

Mental health problems such as emotional distress including anxiety, memory/attention loss, sleep disturbance, and cognitive impairment are common in patients discharged from the hospital with neocoronary pneumonia, and different mental health problems may interact with non-specific symptoms such as fatigue to further aggravate the condition.

  1. What should I do?

3.1 Pre-treatment: Mild treatment: symptomatic treatment: Chinese medicine and Western medicine. According to Zhang Wenhong, severe treatment: oxygen + antiviral + hormone + nutrition.

3.2 Studies have shown that the number of comorbidities in the sequelae of neocoronary pneumonia is significantly correlated with the degree of fatigue. So rest plus nutrition is one of the main measures to treat the sequelae of neoconjunctivitis pneumonia.
