A second booster dose of the New Crown vaccine is currently being promoted in multiple locations. Lu Hongzhou suggested that one dose of vaccine should be injected every year and one dose of vaccine should be sprayed at home every six months. The current vaccine is not very long-acting, and it is hoped that a long-acting, universal polyvalent vaccine with a protection period of about one year will be developed, which will work well for various mutant strains, and must stimulate cellular immunity because of its crucial role in immune protection.

On January 3, during the live broadcast of the Chief Economist Forum, Gao Fu, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, also said that the four levels of protection of vaccines include protection against infection, morbidity, transmission, and death from serious illness, and at present, from the global data, the new crown vaccine has a significant effect only at the last level, i.e., against death from serious illness. Everyone will have to wear a mask for some time to come, and from the perspective of the duration of immunity, it is likely that another vaccination will be given in the next six months.
