Beijing adds a new middle school cluster outbreak, two school-linked outbreaks have infected 21 people

From 0:00 to 24:00 on September 6, 14 new cases of indigenous infections were reported in Beijing, including 13 cases in Changping District and 1 case in Haidian District. 7 new cases of indigenous infections were reported in Beijing from 0:00 to 15:00 on September 7, all of which were isolated and observed, including 5 cases in Changping District and 2 cases in Haidian District.

As of 15:00 on September 7, a cumulative total of 18 cases were reported in the associated cluster outbreak at the Changping Campus of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, and on September 7, a new cluster outbreak was reported in a middle school with three students infected. The two school-associated outbreaks have resulted in a total of 21 infections.

Beijing CDC reminds that schools have always been the top priority for epidemic prevention and control, and that it is important to press for “four-party responsibility”, strictly implement the main responsibility of schools and the personal responsibility of teachers and students, strengthen risk personnel and risk points to check the location, and strictly prevent the spillover of the epidemic to the social side.

Strictly enforce remote control and standardized management of personnel entering and returning to Beijing, implement categorized control of risk personnel, strengthen standardized management of isolated observation sites on campus, strictly follow the prescribed nucleic acid testing within 7 days after arrival in Beijing, reduce campus mobility, no dinners, no parties, no trips to crowded places, and no offline gathering activities.

Strengthen campus management and health education for school students, instruct students to comply with scientific norms on campus to wear masks, wash hands regularly, ventilate frequently, maintain a safe social distance and other regular prevention and control measures, reduce campus mobility, and if symptoms such as fever and cough occur, do not go to work and school with illness, report to the relevant departments in a timely manner and seek medical attention as required.
