City Health Committee recently issued a notice on the further improvement of laboratory biosafety management of the new coronavirus. According to the notice, the city is strictly prohibited to carry out experimental activities related to the new coronavirus beyond the scope, the laboratory to set up a special library to store the new coronavirus strains or samples.

City Health and Health Commission requirements, in the administrative area of Beijing to engage in new coronavirus culture, animal infection experiments, nucleic acid testing and other experimental activities, subject to the approval of the National Health and Health Commission or the Municipal Health and Health Commission before carrying out, and should strictly comply with national and Beijing new coronavirus laboratory biosafety management related regulations, strictly prohibited to carry out experimental activities beyond the scope.

Laboratory units engaged in experimental activities related to the new coronavirus to effectively fulfill the main responsibility to do a detailed risk assessment, strengthen personnel protection; strengthen the backbone of staff training to enhance the capacity and level; to set up a special library to store the new coronavirus strains or samples, the implementation of double double lock, and equipped with monitoring equipment, after the end of the experiment, in accordance with the rules of good disposal or sent to storage; transport of new coronavirus strains or uncultured potentially Infectious biological material samples should be approved by the State Health and Welfare Commission or the Municipal Health and Welfare Commission before proceeding.

Health and health administrative departments in each district should implement local supervision responsibilities, to find out the nature of the units engaged in experimental activities related to the new coronavirus in the district, the type of experimental activities, the preservation of the new coronavirus strains and samples, etc., to establish a ledger, into the scope of key control, strengthen supervision and inspection, and effectively prevent biosafety risks.
