In Beijing, there were 154 confirmed local cases, 808 local asymptomatic infections (685 cases of isolation and observation, 266 cases of social screening) and 3 confirmed cases and 3 asymptomatic infections imported from abroad. 66 cases were cured and discharged, 2 cases died.

From 00:00 to 24:00 on November 20, there were 154 new confirmed cases and 808 asymptomatic infections (including 11 cases of asymptomatic infections transferred to confirmed cases, of which 516 cases have been notified), 685 cases of isolation and observation, 266 cases of social screening, and no new suspected cases; there were 3 new confirmed cases and 3 asymptomatic infections imported from abroad, and no new suspected cases. There were 66 cases discharged from hospital, 71 cases of asymptomatic infected persons released from medical observation, and 2 cases of death.

Fatal cases

Female, 91 years old, was transferred from Chaoyang District to Ditan Hospital on November 19. The patient was of advanced age, had a history of cerebral infarction for many years, had dementia for several years, and was unable to take care of herself. On admission, her pulse, respiration, blood pressure and oxygen could not be measured, she was in a coma, and her pupils were fixed and dilated bilaterally. The clinical diagnosis was: novel coronavirus pneumonia mild, shock, old cerebral infarction, and Alzheimer’s disease. Immediately after admission, he was intubated, connected to a simple ventilator for assisted ventilation, and continued cardiopulmonary resuscitation for about 40 minutes, but his heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen could not be measured, and he was unable to restore voluntary circulation, and was declared clinically dead on November 20.

Male, 88 years old, was transferred from Daxing District to Ditan Hospital on November 19. The patient was of advanced age, with a 20-year history of hypertension, maximum blood pressure of 200/110 mmHg, a 6-year history of cerebral infarction, long-term bed rest, unable to take care of himself, a history of prostate cancer surgery 10 years ago, and a history of chronic bronchitis for many years. The clinical diagnosis was: novel coronavirus pneumonia mild. Immediately after admission, a multidisciplinary expert group consultation was organized, and oxygen, anti-infection and symptomatic support treatment were given. On November 20, a sudden onset of arrhythmia and continuous cardiopulmonary resuscitation for about 50 minutes, the patient died of sudden cardiac death due to continuous deterioration of the underlying disease, and died after resuscitation.

Confirmed cases imported from abroad

Confirmed case 1: Hong Kong, China, arrived at Beijing Capital Airport from Hong Kong, China on November 17, and was sent to the centralized isolation hotel through closed-loop management, and was diagnosed as a confirmed case on November 20.

Confirmed case 2: Bulgarian national, arrived at Beijing Capital Airport from Germany on November 16, sent to the centralized isolation hotel under closed-loop management, and diagnosed as confirmed case on November 20.

Confirmed case 3: Chinese national, arrived at Beijing Capital Airport from France on November 17, sent to the centralized isolation hotel under closed-loop management, and diagnosed as confirmed case on November 20.

All the above cases have been transferred to designated hospitals, epidemiological investigations have been carried out and control measures have been implemented as required.

Older people have lower resistance and higher risk of infection, so please ask your elderly friends to do a good job of personal protection, standardize the wearing of masks, do not gather, do not pile up, do not string doors, and reduce mobility.
