CDC: The epidemic strains of BA.5.2 and BF.7 were not found to be new mutant strains

The official website of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that China continues to carry out surveillance of new coronavirus variants and selects some sentinel hospitals in each province to carry out surveillance of outpatient (emergency) cases, serious cases, deaths and virus variants in some special populations after December 2022. At the same time, virus mutation surveillance was conducted for people entering the country by land, water and air ports. The surveillance results showed that the prevalent strains in this round of the epidemic were BA.5.2 and BF.7, and no new mutant strains were found.
