Chinese official: no foreigners in China have reported difficulties in seeking medical treatment after the new crown infection
In response to the question of whether foreigners can enjoy the same medical services in China, Jiao Yahui, Director General of the Medical Department of the National Health and Wellness Commission of China, said in a media interview in Beijing on December 29 that all foreigners in China can enjoy medical services for NICs, and there have been no reports of foreigners not receiving timely medical treatment or having difficulties in seeking medical treatment for NICs in China.
In response to whether foreigners can enjoy the same medical services in China, Jiao Yahui said that all foreigners in China can enjoy medical services for the new coronavirus infection. In April this year, when the epidemic occurred in Shanghai, many foreign patients were given adequate medical treatment, and according to their conditions, medical institutions have done everything possible to receive and treat them, and these foreign patients were also cured and discharged from the hospital, “foreigners can not worry about having different medical treatment in China”.
Jiao Yahui said the National Health Commission has been paying attention to public opinion, including the people’s demand for medical care, and has not seen foreigners reflecting on the lack of timely consultation or difficulties in accessing medical care for their new crown infections in China. The embassies and consulates have also not received any reflections on the situation.
Talking about whether the opening of ports will aggravate the problem of insufficient medical resources, Jiao Yahui said that different provinces and cities are going through different phases of the epidemic, and for cities that are now at the peak of the epidemic, medical resources used to have a structural contradiction between supply and demand, and in response to these situations, China has taken a variety of measures, including expanding the supply of medical services and expanding the capacity of medical resources.
She believes that the adjustment of prevention and control policies on January 8, the opening of ports and borders after the movement of people will not cause a tight situation of medical resources in China. (End)
