According to preliminary statistics, the weekly output of proprietary Chinese medicines exceeds 5 million boxes (bottles), weekly output of antipyretic and analgesic medicines exceeds 1.25 million boxes (bottles), and weekly output of antigen detection kits exceeds 35 million copies.

Specifically, the daily output of ibuprofen drugs of two enterprises, namely Southwest Pharmaceutical and Corey Pharmaceutical, has stabilized above 800,000 tablets, and the daily output of acetaminophen drugs of five companies, including Dikang Changjiang Pharmaceutical, has reached 2.8 million tablets.

Chongqing Municipal Drug Administration also accelerated the resumption of production and approval of commissioned production of acetaminophen oral solution by Corey Pharmaceutical, and quickly reviewed the cross-province commissioned production of ibuprofen extended-release tablets by Southwest Pharmaceutical. At the same time, the Chongqing Municipal Economic Information Commission, through coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Shandong and Hebei provinces, has successively supplied 45 tons of production raw materials to the enterprise, and the enterprise’s package of auxiliary materials is also basically adequate in preparation.

In addition to enhancing the production of local enterprises, Chongqing Municipal Economic Information Commission also accurately procured, stored and allocated Chinese patent medicines, antipyretic and analgesic drugs, cough medicine, antigen detection kits, medical protective masks and other medical supplies to meet the medical institutions and the local market. According to the recent 7-day consumption monitoring, the stock of antipyretic drugs in medical institutions can last 17 days, proprietary Chinese medicines can last 13 days and cough medicines can last 17 days; the stock of proprietary Chinese medicines in drug retail chains can meet the supply of pharmacies for 4 days – 7 days.

In response to the shortage of children’s fever-reducing oral solution, the Ministry of Industry has allocated 70,000 bottles of pediatric fever-reducing medicine, 2.7 million tablets of adult fever-reducing medicine and 1 million copies of antigen detection reagents to Chongqing, which will arrive within this week, strongly guaranteeing the prevention and control of the epidemic in Chongqing.

Chongqing Health and Health Commission and Chongqing Commerce Commission also deployed relevant drugs and supplies according to their respective channels. The health department deployed 3,400 bottles of children’s antipyretic drugs for distribution to districts and counties with nearly zero stock, and instructed medical institutions to use ibuprofen tablets (over 1 year old) and acetaminophen tablets (over 3 years old) in accordance with the dosage for children contained in the instructions.
