Civil Aviation Administration of China: has begun accepting applications from U.S. and Chinese airlines to resume operation of U.S.-China routes

In response to the resumption of direct flights between China and the United States, Liang Nan, director and first-class inspector of the Department of Transportation of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), said in Beijing on Jan. 8 that the CAAC has begun accepting applications from Chinese and foreign airlines to resume flights, including applications from Chinese and American airlines to resume operations on U.S.-China routes. Liang Nan said that the CAAC has been accepting applications for flight plans from Chinese and foreign airlines since January 8, and nearly 40 Chinese and foreign airlines have submitted applications for passenger flight plans involving 34 countries and about 700 flights per week, most of which are scheduled to resume operations between late January and February, and the CAAC is following the procedures to review and handle them urgently.
