FDA Plans to Simplify New Crown Vaccination, Similar to Flu Vaccine Once a Year The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released its “Future New Crown Vaccination Program” on Jan. 23 local time, hoping to simplify the New Crown vaccination process by proposing to administer one dose of the latest New Crown vaccine to healthy adults each year, a process that looks closer to the current flu vaccine. The advisory committee is scheduled to meet this Thursday, Jan. 26.

The agency said that looking ahead, most people may need only one dose of the latest New Crown vaccine to regain protection, regardless of their previous vaccinations. the FDA has also asked its external advisory panel to consider administering the New Crown vaccine twice a year to young children, older adults and those who are immunocompromised. Currently, most Americans need two doses of the original New Crown vaccine first and a booster a few months later.
