First batch of 770,000 doses of Fupirtide bivalent vaccine arrives in Hong Kong

On November 25, the HKSAR government issued a press release stating that Fosun Pharmaceuticals has delivered the first batch of about 770,000 doses of Fosun Pharmaceuticals/German pharmaceutical company BioNTech’s Comirnaty Original/Omicron BA.4-5 (15/15 micrograms)/dose Dispersion for Injection COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine (nucleoside modified) to Hong Kong today. The Hong Kong government plans to start vaccinating the public with the bivalent vaccine in early December, details of which will be announced later.
As recommended by experts, the bivalent vaccine is available as an alternative to the fourth dose of the vaccine (or the third dose for rehabilitated persons) for eligible persons aged 12 years or older according to the current vaccination schedule, but they can still choose to receive either the Coxin or the original strain of Fubert vaccine.
