The National Health and Wellness Commission informed on September 22 that on September 21, 0-24 hours, 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 165 new cases of confirmed cases of new crown pneumonia. 279 new cases were cured and discharged on the same day, including 45 imported cases from abroad and 234 local cases (113 cases in Sichuan, 27 cases in Tibet, 24 cases in Guangdong, 10 cases in Hainan, 8 cases in Guizhou, 7 cases in Liaoning, 7 cases in Heilongjiang, 7 cases in Guangxi, 6 cases in Beijing, 6 cases in Inner Mongolia, 4 cases in Shandong, 4 cases in Qinghai, 3 cases in Chongqing, 2 cases in Jilin, 1 case in Tianjin, 1 case in Zhejiang, 1 case in Fujian, 1 case in Jiangxi (1 case, 1 case in Yunnan, 1 case in Gansu), 21,232 close contacts released from medical observation, and 7 fewer serious cases than the previous day.

There were 577 confirmed cases (no serious cases) imported from abroad and no existing suspected cases. The total number of confirmed cases is 23,578, the total number of cured cases is 23,001, and there are no fatal cases.

As of 24:00 on September 21, 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 3,183 confirmed cases (including 35 severe cases), 240,400 cumulative cured and discharged cases, 5,226 cumulative fatal cases, 248,809 cumulative reported confirmed cases, and no existing suspected cases. A total of 5,865,543 close contacts have been traced, and 15,1003 close contacts are still under medical observation.

31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 610 new cases of asymptomatic infections, including 98 cases imported from abroad and 512 local cases (143 cases in Tibet, 134 cases in Guizhou, 109 cases in Heilongjiang, 26 cases in Sichuan, 19 cases in Hubei, 15 cases in Guangxi, 15 cases in Ningxia, 10 cases in Tianjin, 9 cases in Xinjiang, 6 cases in Henan, 5 cases in Chongqing, 5 cases in Qinghai, 4 cases in Shandong (3 cases in Yunnan, 3 cases in Gansu, 2 cases in Hebei, 2 cases in Jiangsu, and 2 cases in Guangdong).

On the same day, 1331 cases of asymptomatic infected persons were released from medical observation, of which 90 cases were imported from abroad and 1241 cases were local (513 cases in Tibet, 186 cases in Guizhou, 110 cases in Heilongjiang, 82 cases in Liaoning, 80 cases in Guangxi, 56 cases in Sichuan, 34 cases in Jiangxi, 33 cases in Xinjiang, 32 cases in Shandong, 26 cases in Hubei, 14 cases in Hainan, 13 cases in Guangdong, 12 cases in Tianjin, 12 cases in Gansu, 8 cases in Jilin (8 cases, Henan 8 cases, Qinghai 5 cases, Inner Mongolia 4 cases, Anhui 4 cases, Fujian 3 cases, Hebei 2 cases, Shanghai 2 cases, Zhejiang 1 case, Shaanxi 1 case); 31 cases turned into confirmed cases on the same day (8 cases imported from abroad); 14,776 cases of asymptomatic infected persons still under medical observation (766 cases imported from abroad).
