On November 21, 2022 from 00-24 hours, 4 new confirmed cases of indigenous New Coronary Pneumonia and 44 asymptomatic infections were detected in isolation control. Five new confirmed cases of imported New Crown pneumonia from abroad and 45 asymptomatic infections were added.

Status of local cases

From 00-24 hours on November 21, 2022, there were 4 new confirmed cases of indigenous New Coronary Pneumonia.

Case 1, temporarily residing in Jiading district.

Both are people returning to Shanghai from other provinces, and were implemented for control after arrival in Shanghai, during which the nucleic acid test results of the new coronavirus were abnormal, and the results were reviewed by the CDC as positive. Case 3, residing in Pudong New Area, was a close contact of a previously reported local infected person from a foreign province returning to Shanghai in the city. The situation of imported cases from abroad

On November 21, 2022, from 0-24 hours, five confirmed cases of overseas imported neocrown pneumonia were reported through the joint prevention and control mechanism at the port. One case was cured and discharged from the United States.

Case 1 was of Chinese nationality, living in Brazil, departed from Brazil, transferred via Germany, and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 15, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which symptoms developed. Case 3 was a Chinese national who worked in Singapore, departed from Singapore and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 18, 2022, and was placed under intensive isolation for observation upon entry, during which she developed symptoms. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 4 was a Chinese national who studied in New Zealand, departed from New Zealand and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 19, 2022, and was placed under intensive isolation for observation upon entry, during which she developed symptoms. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 5, a Chinese national working in the United States, departed from the United States and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on November 19, 2022, and was placed under intensive isolation for observation upon entry, during which she developed symptoms. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were used to diagnose the case as a confirmed case.

Five cases of overseas imported confirmed cases have been transferred to designated medical institutions for treatment, and 47 close contacts of the same flight have been traced, all of whom have been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.

Forty-five cases of imported asymptomatic infections from abroad have been transferred to designated medical institutions for medical observation, and 842 relevant close contacts have been tracked, all of whom have been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.

From 0-24 hours on November 21, 2022, 16 cases of asymptomatic infected persons were released from medical observation, including 11 cases of local asymptomatic infected persons and 5 cases of overseas imported asymptomatic infected persons.
