Hainan Sanya: green channel to relieve the pressure of rural epidemics
“Hello, this is the district command. There is a patient at the Lotus Pond in Nanbin and you need to be sent to the hospital immediately.” After receiving the notice from the Epidemic Prevention and Control Command of Yazhou District, Sanya City, Hainan Province, Mr. Feng drove to the community at the first opportunity to send the elderly man with a serious condition of Xin Guan to the Sanya City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for medical treatment. Mr. Feng, an online taxi driver, took the initiative to sign up as a private car volunteer to provide emergency medical transfer service for patients without a car in the district.
On the morning of Jan. 2, the staff of Sanya Medical Emergency Rescue Center were answering “120” emergency calls and dispatching ambulance vehicles.
There are vast rural areas in Yazhou, and the relevant medical institutions are unable to meet the requirements of treating seriously ill patients. During the peak period of the new crown infection, Yazhou District has opened a “green channel” for critically ill patients, and the village (community) or district command will deploy vehicles such as net cars, private cars and ambulances to transfer to other medical institutions as needed to protect the lives and health of the public. Since the end of 2022, Yazhou District coordinates each village (community) to recruit 2 to 3 volunteers with private cars on their own and deploy 5 net cars to cope with the pressure of attending to critically ill patients with new coronavirus infections in the district.
“Serious patients who need a car can contact the village (community) in the first instance, and the village (community) will send volunteers to transport them to the nearest hospital. You can also call the emergency hotline 120 to apply for an ambulance. If the application is not available, the villages (communities) or the public can contact the district command in the first instance, and then the district command will deploy emergency vehicles.” The relevant person in charge of Yazhou District introduced.
January 1, Hainan Province, the new crown epidemic prevention and control work command medical treatment group issued the “Hainan rural epidemic prevention and control of grassroots medical and health institutions ten task list” notice, stressing the need to further improve the prevention and control of epidemics in rural areas of Hainan Province, to assist timely referral, by the grassroots medical and health institutions to take the initiative to establish a “green channel with higher-level medical institutions “. Since the establishment of the relevant mechanism in Yazhou District, the average number of daily transfers by 120 emergency vehicles is 26, and the district command has dispatched other vehicles more than 100 times, which greatly protects the emergency needs of the public.
