On January 3, the reporter learned from the Henan Provincial Medical Insurance Bureau, Henan will be used for the prevention and treatment of new coronavirus, such as 14 kinds of medical institution preparations and Qing Shi granules and other 6 kinds of Chinese medicine, temporary inclusion in the province’s basic medical insurance, work injury insurance payment range, payment period until March 31, 2023.

The 14 kinds of medical institution preparations, such as golden burdock and clear epidemic granules, which are used in accordance with the scope of transfer approved by the provincial drug supervision and management department, can be included in the medical insurance payment for the cost of their transfer. The medical insurance fund will not pay for preparations that are used beyond the prescribed period and scope.

The list of 14 kinds of medical institution preparations and 6 kinds of proprietary Chinese medicines are as follows.

Take Nanyang City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine’s anti-epidemic Chinese medicine “Jiowei Qingfei Drinking Granules” as an example, the drug has been clinically applied in Nanyang and Zhengzhou and achieved positive efficacy.

After receiving the application of Nanyang Municipal Medical Insurance Bureau to include the Jiu Wei Qing Feng Hui Drinking Granules into the medical insurance catalog, the Provincial Medical Insurance Bureau requested the provincial experts to hold a review meeting on the medical insurance access of the preparation, and unanimously agreed to include the Jiu Wei Qing Feng Hui Drinking Granules into the scope of payment of the provincial medical insurance fund, which is managed according to the category B drugs, and clearly the medical insurance fund is paid according to the scope of the transfer approved by the drug supervision and management department.

Based on the principle of preserving the capital and making profits for the people, the provincial medical insurance bureau, together with the medical insurance bureau of Nanyang City, carried out bargaining negotiations to determine the medical insurance payment limit. After several rounds of bargaining, the price of the preparation was reduced from 51.41 yuan/box to 48 yuan/box, a reduction of 6.6%, further reducing the burden of drug costs on patients.

The relevant person in charge of the Henan Provincial Medical Insurance Bureau said that the temporary inclusion of some Chinese medicines for the prevention and treatment of the new coronavirus infection in the scope of payment of the fund is the medical insurance department to actively respond to the new coronavirus infection epidemic, to meet the needs of the people to purchase drugs, to reduce the burden of medical costs of the participants, to protect the lives and health of the people’s practical initiatives, but also to strongly support the development of the inheritance and innovation of Chinese medicine in our province Specific initiatives.
