The International Monetary Fund (IMF) released an update to its World Economic Outlook report on the same day, raising its global economic growth forecast to 2.9 percent this year and arguing that factors such as China’s optimized epidemic control measures will boost Chinese and global economic growth, according to an Associated Press report on the 30th.

The IMF expects the world economy to grow by 2.9 percent this year, a forecast better than the IMF’s October 2022 forecast of 2.7 percent growth in 2023, the report said. the IMF said an important factor in the upward revision of the global economic outlook is China’s optimization of epidemic prevention and control measures, which paves the way for faster global economic growth. the IMF expects China’s economy to achieve at least 5.2 percent growth this year , higher than the 4.4 percent forecast for October 2022.

Meanwhile, the IMF predicts global inflation will slow this year, with consumer inflation falling globally from 8.8% in 2022 to 6.6% in 2023 and to 4.3% in 2024. the IMF said the risks threatening global growth have eased. The release of pent-up demand in many economies may help boost the economy, and inflation levels may fall more quickly.
