Macau: From December 23, the abolition of land-based nucleic acid testing for Hong Kong, Taiwan and foreign arrivals

According to the Macao SAR Government website, the Macao Novel Coronavirus Infection Response Coordination Centre announced that, in response to the adjustment of the epidemic and the prevention and control policy, the preventive measures for people entering the Macao SAR from the Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan and foreign countries have been adjusted since 00:00 on December 23, 2022 as follows.

- maintain the requirement of having a nucleic acid test report within 72 hours after the date of sampling when boarding a plane, ship or vehicle to Macau.
- Eliminate the following post-entry measures: nucleic acid test on arrival, Macau Health Code “Red Code” and nucleic acid test on the third day from the day after entry.
- After entry, the Macau Health Code will be changed to “Code Yellow” and the patient will be subjected to self-health management and will undergo the rapid antigen test for the new coronavirus every day for 5 consecutive days from the day after entry and upload the results to the Macau Health Code. After uploading a negative rapid antigen test result on the 5th day, the Macau Health Code will be changed to “Green Code”.
If the rapid antigen test result is positive during the above process, the Macau Health Code will be changed to “Code Red” and the infected person will be required to be isolated at home. The measure that the infected person can leave the Macau SAR for Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan and foreign countries at any time after entry, but cannot travel to Mainland China via Macau SAR until 00:00 on the 9th day after entry, remains unchanged.
