Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) said on the 14th that the number of inbound visitors continued to increase after the implementation of the nucleic acid-free customs clearance policy. Among them, the number of inbound visitors reached 46,700 on the 13th, which is the highest single-day passenger volume since the epidemic and a 198.5% increase compared to the daily average in 2022. In addition, from January 6 to 12, the average occupancy rate of Macau hotel establishments was 67.4%, an increase of 24.3 percentage points compared to December last year. As MGTO continues to make every effort to expand visitor sources, coupled with the float parade and fireworks display, as well as the first-ever large-scale Chinese New Year celebrations such as the “New Road to Macau”, more visitors are expected to be attracted to Macau for the New Year, boosting consumption.
