No new local confirmed cases and no new local asymptomatic infected persons in Shanghai on September 14 (0-24 hours)
The Municipal Health Commission informed this morning (September 15) that there were no new local confirmed cases of New Coronary Pneumonia and asymptomatic infections from 0-24 hours on September 14, 2022. Eight new confirmed cases of imported new coronary pneumonia from abroad and two asymptomatic infections were found in the closed-loop control.

There were no new confirmed cases of indigenous New Coronary Pneumonia from 00-24 hours on September 14, 2022.

Overseas imported cases
From 0-24 hours on September 14, 2022, 8 confirmed cases of overseas imported New Coronary Pneumonia were reported through the joint prevention and control mechanism at ports. Six cases were cured and discharged, including two cases from the United States, one case from Singapore, one case from Argentina, one case from Canada, and one case from the United Kingdom.
Case 1 was of Chinese nationality, living in Sri Lanka, departed from Sri Lanka and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 10, 2022, and was placed under intensive quarantine observation upon entry, during which symptoms developed. A comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were used to diagnose a confirmed case.
Case 2 was a Chinese national working in New Zealand who arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 10, 2022 from New Zealand and was placed under intensive quarantine for observation upon entry, during which he developed symptoms. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.
Cases 3-6 were all Chinese nationals, with cases 3 and 4 studying in the United States and cases 5 and 6 working in the United States. Cases 3-6 departed from the United States on the same flight and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 10, 2022, and were placed under centralized isolation and observation upon entry, during which they became symptomatic. A comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were used to diagnose a confirmed case.
Case 7 was a Chinese national traveling in South Korea, departing from South Korea and arriving at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 12, 2022, and was placed under intensive isolation and observation upon entry, during which she developed symptoms. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.
Case 8 was a Chinese national who studied in Canada and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport from Canada on September 12, 2022, and was placed under intensive quarantine upon entry for observation, during which she developed symptoms. The comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings led to the diagnosis of a confirmed case.
Eight cases of overseas imported confirmed cases have been transferred to designated medical institutions for treatment, and 32 close contacts of the same flight have been traced, all of whom have been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.
The situation of overseas imported asymptomatic infected persons
On September 14, 2022 from 00-24 hours, there were 2 new cases of imported asymptomatic infections from abroad.
Asymptomatic infected person 1 is a Chinese national living in the United States, departed from the United States, transferred via Hong Kong, and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 10, 2022, and was placed under centralized isolation and observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.
Asymptomatic infected person 2 is a US national, working in the US, departed from the US and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 10, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.
Two cases of imported asymptomatic infections from abroad have been transferred to designated medical institutions for medical observation, and close contacts of the same flight have previously been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.
On September 14, 2022, from 00-24 hours, 11 cases of asymptomatic infected persons were released from medical observation, including 2 cases of local asymptomatic infected persons and 9 cases of overseas imported asymptomatic infected persons.
