No new local confirmed cases in Shanghai on September 15, 3 new cases of local asymptomatic infections

The Municipal Health Commission informed this morning (September 16) that from 0-24 hours on September 15, 2022, there were no new confirmed cases of indigenous New Coronary Pneumonia and 3 new indigenous asymptomatic infections, all of which were found in isolation control. There were 12 new confirmed cases of imported New Coronary Pneumonia from abroad and 2 new asymptomatic infections, all of which were found in closed-loop control.

Status of local cases

There were no new local confirmed cases of New Coronary Pneumonia from 00-24 hours on September 15, 2022.

Situation of indigenous asymptomatic infected persons

There were 3 new native asymptomatic infections from 0-24 hours on September 15, 2022.

Asymptomatic infected person 1 – asymptomatic infected person 3, living in Minhang District, are close contacts of the local confirmed cases reported on September 13, during the isolation and control of the new coronavirus nucleic acid test results are abnormal, by the CDC review results are positive, comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging results, etc., the diagnosis of asymptomatic infected person.

The situation of imported cases from abroad

From 00-24 hours on September 15, 2022, 12 confirmed cases of overseas imported neocrown pneumonia were reported through the joint prevention and control mechanism at the port. Five cases were cured and discharged, including three cases from the United States, one case from Nigeria, and one case from Germany.

Case 1 and Case 2 were both of Chinese nationality, Case 1 was visiting relatives in the United States, and Case 2 was living in the United States. Case 1 and Case 2 departed from the United States on the same flight and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 10, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which they developed symptoms. A comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were used to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 3 was a Chinese national, visiting relatives in the United States, who arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 11, 2022 from the United States and was placed under intensive quarantine for observation upon entry, during which he developed symptoms. A comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were used to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 4 was an American national living in the United States, departed from the United States, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 12, 2022, and was placed under intensive quarantine for observation upon entry, during which she developed symptoms. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 5 was a French national, visiting relatives in France, who arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 12, 2022, and was placed under intensive quarantine observation upon entry, during which he developed symptoms. A comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were used to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 6 was a Chinese national who worked in Singapore and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport from Singapore on September 12, 2022, and was placed under intensive quarantine for observation upon entry, during which she became symptomatic. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 7, a Chinese national living in the United States, departed from the United States and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 12, 2022, and was placed under intensive quarantine for observation upon entry, during which she developed symptoms. The comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings led to the diagnosis of a confirmed case.

Case 8 and case 9 were both of Chinese nationality, case 8 was visiting relatives in Spain and departed from Spain, case 9 was living in Italy and departed from Italy with a connecting flight via Spain, case 8 and case 9 took the same flight and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 13, 2022, and were placed under intensive isolation and observation upon entry, during which they developed symptoms. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings led to the diagnosis of a confirmed case.

Case 10 was a Dutch national, visiting relatives in the Netherlands, who arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 13, 2022 from the Netherlands and was placed under intensive quarantine for observation upon entry, during which he developed symptoms. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 11 was a Chinese national who studied in Canada and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport from Canada on September 14, 2022, and was placed under intensive quarantine upon entry for observation. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 12 was a Chinese national living in Germany, departed from Germany, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 14, 2022, and was placed under intensive isolation for observation upon entry, during which she developed symptoms. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as confirmed cases.

The 12 cases of overseas imported confirmed cases have been transferred to designated medical institutions for treatment, and 232 close contacts of the same flight have been traced, all of whom have been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.

The situation of overseas imported asymptomatic infected persons

From 00-24 hours on September 15, 2022, there were 2 new cases of imported asymptomatic infections from abroad.

Asymptomatic infected person 1 is a Chinese national, living in Canada, departed from Canada and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 9, 2022, and was placed under centralized isolation and observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected person 2 was a Japanese national, visiting relatives in Japan, departed from Japan and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 13, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Two cases of imported asymptomatic infections from abroad have been transferred to designated medical institutions for medical observation, and 51 close contacts of the same flight have been traced and all have been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.

On September 15, 2022, from 00-24 hours, 6 cases of asymptomatic infected persons were released from medical observation, including 1 case of local asymptomatic infected person and 5 cases of overseas imported asymptomatic infected persons.

From 0:00 July 3, 2022 to 24:00 September 15, 2022, a total of 171 cases were confirmed locally, 189 cases were cured and discharged, 6 cases were treated in hospital, and 0 cases died; there were 748 cases of asymptomatic infections. There are 0 suspected cases to be ranked.

As of 24:00 on September 15, 2022, there were 5276 cumulative overseas imported confirmed cases, 5179 cases discharged and 97 cases under hospital treatment. There are 0 suspected cases to be investigated.
