The Municipal Health Commission informed this morning (October 19) that from 0-24 hours on October 18, 2022, there was one new confirmed case of indigenous New Coronary Pneumonia and 14 new asymptomatic infections, all of which were found in isolation control. There were no new confirmed cases of overseas imported New Coronary Pneumonia and 22 new cases of overseas imported asymptomatic infections, all found in closed-loop control.

Status of local cases

There was 1 new confirmed case of indigenous New Coronary Pneumonia on October 18, 2022 from 00-24 hours. One case was cured and discharged from the hospital.

The case resides in Xuhui District and was found to be abnormal during routine nucleic acid testing in closed-loop management of key personnel. The nucleic acid test results were reviewed by the city and district CDC and were positive. The case was diagnosed as a confirmed case after consultation with municipal experts and comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings.

The situation of local asymptomatic infected persons

From 00-24 hours on October 18, 2022, there were 14 new cases of native asymptomatic infections.

The situation of imported cases from abroad

From 00-24 hours on October 18, 2022, there were no new confirmed cases of imported neocrown pneumonia from abroad. Three cases were cured and discharged, including one case from the United Kingdom, one case from the United States, and one case from France.

Asymptomatic infected person 1 is a Chinese national, working in Singapore, departed from Singapore and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 6, 2022, and was centrally quarantined for observation after entering the customs, and the nucleic acid test was abnormal before being released from quarantine. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Asymptomatic infected person 2 is a Singaporean national, working in Singapore, departed from Singapore and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 10, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected patients3 were of Malaysian nationality, living in Malaysia, departed from Malaysia, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 12, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. Twenty-two cases of imported asymptomatic infections from abroad have been transferred to designated medical institutions for medical observation, and 396 close contacts of the same flight have been tracked, all of whom have been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.

From 0-24 hours on October 18, 2022, 32 cases of asymptomatic infected persons were released from medical observation, including 21 cases of local asymptomatic infected persons and 11 cases of overseas imported asymptomatic infected persons.

From 0:00 July 3, 2022 to 24:00 October 18, 2022, a total of 200 cases were confirmed locally, 200 cases were cured and discharged, 24 cases were treated in hospital, and 0 cases died; 1154 cases of asymptomatic infections were reported. There are 0 suspected cases to be ranked.
