One new local confirmed case and 11 new local asymptomatic infections in Shanghai yesterday

On October 23, 2022, from 00-24 hours, one new confirmed case of indigenous new coronary pneumonia and 11 asymptomatic infections were detected in isolation control. Two new confirmed cases of imported New Crown pneumonia from abroad and 22 asymptomatic infections were found in closed-loop control.

Status of local cases

From 00-24 hours on October 23, 2022, one new confirmed case of indigenous New Coronary Pneumonia was added. Two cases were cured and discharged from the hospital.

The case, residing in Pudong New District, was found to be abnormal during routine nucleic acid testing in closed-loop management of key personnel. The nucleic acid test results were reviewed by the city and district CDC and were positive. The case was diagnosed as a confirmed case after consultation with municipal experts and comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings.

The situation of local asymptomatic infected persons

There were 11 new cases of native asymptomatic infected persons from 0-24 hours on October 23, 2022.

Asymptomatic infected person 1 – Asymptomatic infected person 3, residing in Jing’an district

Asymptomatic infected person 4, residing in Putuo district, and

Asymptomatic infected person 5, residing in Yangpu district, the

asymptomatic infected person 6, asymptomatic infected person 7, residing in Baoshan District, the

Asymptomatic infected person 8, asymptomatic infected person 9, living in Qingpu District.

All are close contacts of previously reported local infected persons from other provinces returning to Shanghai. The nucleic acid test results of the new coronavirus were abnormal during the isolation and control period, and the results were reviewed by the CDC as positive. The asymptomatic infected person10, residing in Pudong New Area, was a close contact of the local asymptomatic infected person reported in this city on October 21. The situation of imported cases from abroad

On October 23, 2022, from 0-24 hours, 2 confirmed cases of overseas imported neocrown pneumonia were reported through the joint prevention and control mechanism at the port. Two cases were cured and discharged, including one case from Canada and one case from the United States.

Case 1 was of Chinese nationality, working in the UK, departed from the UK, transferred via Finland, and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 17, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which symptoms appeared. A comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were used to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 2 was a Chinese national who worked in Singapore and departed from Singapore and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 21, 2022, and was placed under intensive quarantine for observation upon entry, during which he developed symptoms. The comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings led to the diagnosis of a confirmed case.

Two cases of overseas imported confirmed cases have been transferred to designated medical institutions for treatment, and 24 close contacts of the same flight have been traced, all of whom have been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.
