One new local confirmed case and eight new local asymptomatic infections in Shanghai yesterday

On October 26, 2022, from 0-24 hours, one new confirmed case of indigenous new coronary pneumonia and eight asymptomatic infections were detected in isolation control. Five new confirmed cases of imported New Crown pneumonia from abroad and 31 asymptomatic infected persons were found in closed-loop control.

Status of local cases

There was 1 new confirmed case of indigenous New Coronary Pneumonia on October 26, 2022 from 00-24 hours. Three cases were cured and discharged from the hospital.

The case temporarily resided in Pudong New Area and was a close contact of a previously reported local infected person from a foreign province in Shanghai in the city. The nucleic acid test result of the new crown virus was abnormal during the isolation and control period, and the result was reviewed by the CDC as positive. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Status of local asymptomatic infected persons

On October 26, 2022 from 00-24 hours, there were 8 new cases of native asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected person 1, residing in Pudong New Area, asymptomatic infected person 2, temporarily residing in Pudong New Area, asymptomatic infected person 3, residing in Putuo District, and asymptomatic infected person 4, residing in Qingpu District, are all close contacts of previously reported local infected persons from other provinces returning to Shanghai in the city. The nucleic acid test results of the new coronavirus were abnormal during the isolation and control period, and the results were reviewed by the CDC as positive. Asymptomatic infected person 7, temporarily living in Pudong New Area, is a person from other provinces to Shanghai, asymptomatic infected person 8, living in Changning District, is a person from other provinces to Shanghai, after arriving in Shanghai was implemented control, during which the nucleic acid test result of the new coronavirus was abnormal. The situation of imported cases from abroad

From 0-24 hours on October 26, 2022, five confirmed cases of overseas imported neocrown pneumonia were reported through the joint prevention and control mechanism at the port. Three cases were cured and discharged, including one case from the United States, one case from France, and one case from Canada.

Case 1 was of Chinese nationality, working in Singapore, departed from Singapore and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 20, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which symptoms developed. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 2 was a Chinese national who worked in Hong Kong and departed from Hong Kong and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 22, 2022, and was placed under intensive isolation and observation upon entry, during which she developed symptoms. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 3 was a Singaporean national, working in Singapore, who arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 24, 2022 from Singapore and was placed under intensive isolation for observation upon arrival, during which he developed symptoms. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 4 was a Chinese national who worked in the Netherlands and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 25, 2022, from the Netherlands, and was placed under intensive quarantine for observation upon arrival, during which he developed symptoms. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 5, a Chinese national studying in New Zealand, departed from New Zealand and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 25, 2022, and was sent to a designated medical facility for isolation and observation upon arrival because of symptoms. The comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings led to the diagnosis of a confirmed case.

Five cases of overseas imported confirmed cases have been transferred to designated medical institutions for treatment, and 119 close contacts of the same flight have been traced, all of which have been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.

The situation of overseas imported asymptomatic infected persons

On October 26, 2022, from 00-24 hours, there were 31 new cases of imported asymptomatic infections from abroad.

Asymptomatic infected person 1 is a Chinese national, working in Gabon, departed from Gabon, transferred through France, and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 14, 2022, and was placed under centralized isolation and observation upon entry, with abnormal nucleic acid testing before release from isolation. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Asymptomatic infected person 2 was of Malaysian nationality, living in Malaysia, departed from Malaysia, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on October 14, 2022, and was centrally isolated for observation upon entry, and had an abnormal nucleic acid test before being released from isolation.
