New crown pneumonia outbreak in Guangzhou on September 12, 2022

From 00:00 to 24:00 on September 12, 2022, there were no new local confirmed cases or local asymptomatic infections in the city. There were 3 new confirmed cases imported from abroad, 1 case each from Canada, Singapore and Myanmar, and 5 new asymptomatic cases imported from abroad, 1 case each from UAE, Malaysia and Myanmar, and 2 cases from Bangladesh.

The above-mentioned confirmed cases and asymptomatic infected persons imported from abroad were transferred to the centralized isolation site according to the whole closed-loop management procedure after entry. If they tested positive for nucleic acid of the new coronavirus during isolation, they were transferred to the City Hospital No. 8 of Guangzhou Medical University for isolation treatment.

As of 24:00 on September 12, 2022, the city reported a total of 6954 positive cases of New Coronavirus pneumonia infection. Among them, 3452 cases were confirmed (2406 imported from abroad and 1046 local), 129 cases were still under hospital treatment; 3502 cases were asymptomatic (3237 imported from abroad and 265 local), 52 cases were still under medical observation.

Latest situation in Guangdong Province

From 0 to 24:00 on September 12, there were 7 new local confirmed cases in the province (4 cases in Shenzhen and 3 cases in Jiangmen); 4 new local asymptomatic infections (4 cases in Shenzhen). The province has 9 new confirmed cases of imported foreign cases (Guangzhou 3 cases, Shenzhen 6 cases); 23 new cases of imported foreign asymptomatic infections (Guangzhou 5 cases, Shenzhen 9 cases, Zhuhai 1 case, Foshan 2 cases, Huizhou 1 case, Dongguan 4 cases, Jiangmen 1 case); and 3 cases of imported foreign asymptomatic infections to confirmed cases (Guangzhou 1 case, Shenzhen 2 cases).

There are 52 new cases discharged from the province (13 cases imported from abroad), 680 cases are currently in the hospital (182 cases imported from abroad); 28 new cases of asymptomatic infections were released from medical observation (13 cases imported from abroad), 414 cases of asymptomatic infections are still under medical observation (173 cases imported from abroad).

As of 24:00 on September 12, the province reported a total of 19,634 positive cases of new pneumonia (12,368 cases imported from abroad), including 9,699 confirmed cases (5,107 cases imported from abroad) and 9,935 asymptomatic cases (7,261 cases imported from abroad).

One person with abnormal nucleic acid was found in Yuexiu District at 12:00 a.m. on September 12. The person took train Z136/Z137 (Urumqi-Guangzhou, departing at 21:00 on September 9, 2022) and arrived at Guangzhou Station at around 3:00 a.m. on September 12, landed on the nucleic acid and then took train C7031 (Guangzhou-Shenzhen, departing at 6:19 on September 12) and arrived at Luohu Railway Station in Shenzhen at 8:00 on September 12.
