The Municipal Health Commission informed this morning (September 29) that from 0-24 hours on September 28, 2022, there were no new confirmed cases of indigenous New Coronary Pneumonia and one new indigenous asymptomatic infected person, which was found in isolation control. There were 13 new confirmed cases of imported New Coronary Pneumonia from abroad and 8 new asymptomatic infections, all found in closed-loop control.

Status of local cases

There were no new local confirmed cases of New Coronary Pneumonia from 0-24 hours on September 28, 2022.

Situation of indigenous asymptomatic infected persons

On September 28, 2022 from 0-24 hours, there was one new case of native asymptomatic infected person.

The asymptomatic infected person, who lives in Xuhui District, is a person returning to Shanghai from other provinces and is a close contact of a positive infected person notified by the provincial coordinator, and was implemented and controlled upon arrival in Shanghai. During the isolation and control of the new coronavirus nucleic acid test results are abnormal, the CDC review results are positive, comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging results, etc., the diagnosis of asymptomatic infected persons.

The situation of imported cases from abroad

From 0-24 hours on September 28, 2022, 13 confirmed cases of overseas imported neocrown pneumonia were reported through the joint prevention and control mechanism at the port. Eleven cases were cured and discharged, including six cases from the United States, two cases from France, one case from Malaysia, one case from Singapore, and one case from Taiwan, China.

Cases 1 and 2 were both of German nationality, visiting relatives in Germany, departing from Germany on the same flight, arriving at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 21, 2022, and being centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which they developed symptoms. The comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings led to the diagnosis of a confirmed case.

Case 3 and case 4 are both of Chinese nationality, case 3 lives in Cyprus and case 4 is visiting relatives in Cyprus. Case 3 and case 4 departed from Cyprus on the same flight, transited through Austria and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 24, 2022, and were placed under intensive isolation and observation upon entry, during which they developed symptoms. A comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were used to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 5, a Chinese national working in Canada, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport from Canada on September 25, 2022, and was placed under intensive quarantine upon entry for observation, during which she became symptomatic. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 6 was a Chinese national, visiting relatives in Canada, who arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport from Canada on September 26, 2022, and was placed under intensive quarantine upon entry for observation, during which he developed symptoms. A comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were used to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 7 was a Chinese national working in Hungary and departed from Hungary, Case 8 was a Chinese national visiting relatives in Switzerland and departed from Switzerland, Case 9 was a French national working in France and departed from France, Cases 7 and 9 were transferred via Finland and took the same flight, arriving at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 26, 2022, and were placed under intensive isolation and observation upon entry, during which symptoms appeared. The epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were combined to diagnose a confirmed case.

Case 10 was a Chinese national working in France, who arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 26, 2022, and was placed under intensive quarantine upon entry, during which he developed symptoms. The comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings led to the diagnosis of a confirmed case.

Cases 11 and 12 are Chinese nationals working in Germany, and case 13 is a French national studying in Germany. Cases 11 and 13 departed from Germany on the same flight and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 27, 2022, and were placed under intensive quarantine for observation upon entry, during which they developed symptoms. The comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as confirmed cases.

Thirteen cases of overseas imported confirmed cases have been transferred to designated medical institutions for treatment, and 108 close contacts of the same flight have been traced, all of whom have been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.

The situation of overseas imported asymptomatic infected persons

On September 28, 2022, from 00-24 hours, there were 8 new cases of imported asymptomatic infections from abroad.

Asymptomatic infected person 1 is a Chinese national, working in the United States, departed from the United States and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 17, 2022, and was placed under centralized isolation and observation upon entry into the country, with abnormal nucleic acid testing prior to release from isolation. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected person 2 was a Chinese national who studied in Canada, departed from Canada and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 25, 2022, and was placed under intensive quarantine observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected patients7 were of Chinese nationality, traveling in the United States, departing from the United States and arriving at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 27, 2022, and were centrally isolated for observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Asymptomatic infected patients8 were of Chinese nationality, working in Germany, departing from Germany and arriving at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 27, 2022, and were placed under intensive quarantine observation upon entry, during which routine nucleic acid testing was abnormal. After screening, the nucleic acid test result of the district CDC for new coronavirus was positive. Comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings were diagnosed as asymptomatic infections.

Eight cases of imported asymptomatic infections from abroad have been transferred to designated medical institutions for medical observation, and 221 close contacts of the same flight have been traced, all of whom have been implemented for centralized isolation and observation.

On September 28, 2022, from 0-24 hours, 3 cases of asymptomatic infected persons were released from medical observation, including 1 case of local asymptomatic infected person and 2 cases of overseas imported asymptomatic infected persons.

From 0:00 on July 3, 2022 to 24:00 on September 28, 2022, a total of 171 cases were confirmed locally, 195 cases were cured and discharged, 0 cases were treated in hospital, and 0 cases died; 755 cases of asymptomatic infections were reported. There are 0 suspected cases to be ranked.
