Jiao Yahui, Director General of the Medical Department of the National Health Care Commission: At present, 16,400 fever clinics are opened in medical institutions above the second level nationwide, and 43,100 fever clinics or fever clinics are opened in primary health care institutions. The number of fever clinic visits nationwide reached a peak on December 23, 2022, i.e., 2.867 million visits, after which it continued to decline, falling back to 477,000 visits on January 12, 2023, a decrease of 83.3% from the peak number, and the number of visits to fever clinics and clinics in all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps currently show an overall decreasing trend after reaching the peak, and rural areas also The trend is the same in urban and rural areas. The detection rate of new crown-positive infections in fever clinics also continued to decline, with a peak rate of 33.9% on December 20 and a decline to 10.8% on January 12, indicating that the peak of fever clinics has passed.

At the same time, the overall situation of the emergency department showed a continuous downward trend after reaching the peak. The number of emergency room visits nationwide peaked at 1.526 million on January 2, 2023, and continued to decline thereafter, dropping to 1.092 million on January 12, down 28.4% from the peak. The detection rate of newly crown-positive infections among emergency department visits declined steadily from a peak of 8.8% on Dec. 22 to 2.9% on Jan. 12. This data indicates that the national peak in emergency care has passed.

Jiao Yahui said, from the outpatient situation, the overall situation shows that the normal treatment is gradually recovering. 9.135 million people were treated in general outpatient clinics nationwide on January 12, basically returning to the level before the outbreak. The proportion of newly crown-positive infected patients among outpatients, which peaked at 5.7% on December 19, continued to decline afterwards, accounting for 0.9% on January 12. The number of daily general outpatient consultations has continued to increase, and normal consultations are gradually being restored.
