Thailand: No more requirement for incoming passengers to show proof of vaccination for the new crown
According to Reuters and the Thai newspaper “The Nation” and other media on January 9, Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health Anutin said that Thailand has canceled an entry policy announced last weekend and no longer requires international travelers to show proof of vaccination for the new crown. Anutin noted that the reason for the policy change is that “there are enough immunizations worldwide and Thailand will allow unrestricted entry for those who have not been vaccinated.

The Thai government’s entry policy issued over the weekend stipulates that from 09:00 on January 9, international travelers entering Thailand will remain unseparated and untested, but will be required to show proof of full New Crown vaccination and health insurance coverage of at least $10,000.
This follows a letter from the Phuket Tourism Association of Thailand to the government, complaining that the new entry rules threaten the country’s tourism recovery. Thai Tourism and Sports Minister Phippa Ratchaprakan said Monday that he intervened after receiving a letter from the Phuket Tourism Association asking Public Health Minister Anutin to adjust the vaccination requirements for international travelers.
