The new coronavirus is not a "big flu" but a "small AIDS", don't believe it!

In recent times, a saying has started to spread on the internet and among friends that “New Crown is not a big flu, but a small AIDS”. Some people even swear that “many of the new crown drugs are actually originally used as anti-AIDS drugs”.

Is there a relationship between the new coronavirus and the cancer virus? Let’s take a look at some of the differences in the pathogenesis of the two.

Moreover, there is not enough evidence to confirm that Neocoronavirus causes lifelong effects on the immune system like AIDS, and Neocoronavirus does not persist in the human body for a long time.

On January 6, 2023, Azivudine and nematovir tablet/ritonavir tablet combination package (paxlovid) were included in antiviral therapy in the “Treatment Protocol for Novel Coronavirus Infection (Trial Version 10)” released by the National Health Commission and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NACM).3 Azivudine and ritonavir in paxlovid are all drugs for AIDS, so why can they be used to treat neo-coronavirus?

Azivudine was a drug for AIDS before it was approved to treat neo-crown. in July 2021, Azivudine was approved for marketing as an anti-AIDS drug, the world’s first dual-target anti-AIDS innovation. Pfizer’s neo-crown drug nematovir tablets/ritonavir tablets combination package, on the other hand, is a combination package that includes nematovir tablets, ritonavir tablets, of which ritonavir is a human immunodeficiency virus type 1 protease inhibitor, also used in anti-HIV drugs, but in this combination package is mainly used to delay the metabolism of nematovir by CYP3A4 and maintain effective blood levels of nematovir in the body.

“The mechanism of action of global anti-neo-coronavirus drugs can be summarized into two main categories, one is to prevent the binding of virus and host cells, and the other is to prevent the production of new virus in host cells, such as 3CL and RdRp,” said Zhang Yatong, “Pfizer’s nematuvir tablets/ritonavir tablets combination package uses is 3CL, and the mechanism of action is by inhibiting the action of the 3CL protease, thus preventing a series of subsequent replication activities of the virus.” ④

Finally, it can be seen that NIV and HIV are not related in any way, from the virus itself, to the pathogenesis, transmission, and treatment options. Therefore, the new coronavirus is not a “mini-AIDS”! Such “rumors” are just creating anxiety, don’t believe them!
